Hey, I was just wondering how many forums everyone as here on DigitalPoint. I reckonized allot of people have maybe one or two forums. Also some members are constantly buying, selling, and creating new forums.

I would like to know how many forums everyone as, and what they are about etc. Also if you have loads of forums, why have you got loads? Why do you like having forums? Anyways discuss the amounts of forums everyone as.

Unless you are too addicted you tend to get sick of managing multiple forums especially when you have to promote it.

 

I own one. I don't need anymore.

 

See I guess some people who make one forum that ends up sucessful they tend to create another. I have one forum right now, however its on a free phpBB forum hosting. I am planning on getting this forum backed up and restored on a vBulletin lisence and on a paid server.

 

i had a forum, stopped it for personal reasons hoping to start one up again.

but yeah, its not easy managing multiple successful forums

 

I only have one, it started a few days ago, and ended this morning!!
it was then re-started this afternoon!!,
the first one was a freebie and the google ads on there were advertising the very thing i hate!! 1 week training courses to be a fully fledged tradesperson!! reality check!!
So now im google ad free!! lovely!!

 

I am confused, you said it ended "This Morning" and started again "This Afternoon". What do you mean by this?

 

i have one forum and i am crazy now.....

 

I had a forum with "myfreeforum" ie yourlocaltrades.myfreeforum etc and it was covered with google ads because it was free, so i have downloaded a new one, moved everything to it and changed my sig everywhere. NO google ads!!
look at my sig, it looks better now, many people commented on getting rid of the myfreeforum bit too.

Now i have complete control too.

 

Oh I see now. I am doing the same, I have my forum on a free host, however they allow backups so I will be importing everything over. I am buying an host, domain, and vBulletin lisence.

 

they wanted £60 of me-needless to say, they got nothing!!

 

I have 2 forums and both are real estate related. One is doing awesome with almost 13K members and the other one, not so good.

THink wise. How serious are you? You see your plan succeeding or falling? It depends on how you wanan go about it. Some probably make communities for a short term then sell it to someone. vBulletin isn't really a necessary step. If you have low budget go for SMF or myBB. I started my community with phpbb on my host then switched to vB after about a year or so.

I have another community which is failing, if you want to buy a cheaper vB license let me know.

 

I have one forum and that's enough for me!

 

This is something I have been doing for nearlly three years with an nichie that is not about money making. Its something I actually like, I am not doing this to make money nor to sell later on. I would never sell this.

Is the lisence owned or leased, because I am looking to buy a owned lisence.

 

One. It's alot of hard work unless your a mod here or something and have lots of forum junky friends... Patience and sore hands.

 

You guys do know that my forum is doing pretty well right, I am not looking for tips. I was wondering how many forums everyone had, lol.

 

lol I was just justifying why I personally didn't start a new resource. Inner dialogue and alibis to not starting another.

Anyways have you realised that no one as posted an high amount of forums, maybe people don't like telling everyone how many posts they have?
