We've made My Searchplace free again with no reciprocal! We're still waiting for our new site logo and alot of changes are being made to the script to make it more user friendly. You can submit your site though!
I am not trying to be critical here, just helpful. The site is loading very slowly. I was able to add my site to three other directories while I waited for yours to load. And, I agree with Mikey. This user registration may help you with spam, but the world as a whole, doesn't have time for this. Good luck..
Thanx for the good advice: Re user registration: I was getting alot of spam, and since I implemented the registration I'm getting 12% less sites submitted, but atleast its quality sites. I know its a hazzle, but hopefully people with good sites will take the time. Re the slow load time: Please give me advice on how to speed it up Littlea. Ideally, yes. But in the real world, no — people with good sites are usually too busy to endure the requirements of registration. They/we just move on to the next directory that does not require registration.
Of course, it is your website, and you are entitled to design it exactly as you wish. I mean that sincerely. However, as some experienced posters have already indicated, you will almost certainly find your legitimate submissions to be well below the amount you would receive without the registration requirement. Most submitters see that registration and immediately move on.
