cashninja's right - all the answers you get are going to be the same old same old - backlinks, forum sigs, social bookmarking, article submission.....there really is no instant magic spell. Read the forum, do the work.
Here are a few things you can do to really boost your traffic: - SEO - Forum sig - blog - Social bookmarking sites (use digg for short term traffic like about a day or two and use stumble upon for long term traffic) - Try and crack JV deals - Get lots of Affiliates to promote your product and pay them 50% or whatever you wish per sale. - Blogrush (This is John Reese's new widget it brings free traffic to your blog) - Submit articles to several article directories (this might help you a bit with your seo too). Once you start generating free traffic keep on testing and tracking this traffic once you know what your conversion rate is then you can work out a massive adword campaign like if your sales page is really converting then adword will be the best source of traffic cause it will generate traffic instantly and you wont have to pay your affiliate or JV's nor will you have to do hard work of seoing and other stuff. But make sure you work out your conversion rate otherwise your PPC campaign can go sour and you might go into loss. So first test and track everything and then make a lot of money. These are just my suggestions end the end you have to decide what works for and what doesn't.
I would like to add that you can have a paid review by a high traffic prominant blogger such as Shoemoney or John Chow for a few hundred bucks. Newbie Shield
Forget about running behind high PR rather try to get backlinks and increase traffic. Advertise your site at relevant sites so that you will get good targeted traffic.

Pretty neat idea, bornleader. That is, if it is true in what you are saying in your site. It's a simple idea, but I never thought of combining all the trash e-books bought in the past and re-selling them as a "preview" to get one's money back, and then some, while at the same time warning others. I'll pass along that idea to others. One thing, though...I think you should redo your site. It looks just like many of those other sites you are talking about. So.... Bornleader you are jimmy right/? u wanted to sell your packages long ago in buy sell section.. you can get like 1000 visitors easily.. like stumbleupon or digg or myspace.. but is that visitor good for your site? no .. why .. cause you are selling something i think.. may be information package.. best traffic for you is if you are from india contact few members here from india who does search engine optimization for 200$ or less they gurantee your site will have 100 200 500 1000 backlinks from good directories they will submit your sites in social bookmark sites they will optimize your keyword and placement etc they will get you backlinks from related sites as yours with high pr also they will get you 1500-2500 forum signature links in forums like digital point.. or other.. just to go any rentacoder type sites and note down the outsourcing firms phone email and address etc in INDIA then call them up.. and pay by cash 10000 Indian rupees or more.... they have team of 20 to 100 employee and data entry workers if by hand you want to do all this.. you have to go to hospital.. and no software or auto submitter can bypass captha really or be like human to post reviews on social bookmark sites.. or get u forum signatures.. So ppl here telling you .. you can promote your site urself and do all seo are either misleading you dont have a clue of web industry.. or they are getting junk traffic hit and run type like stumble upon.. or autosurfs or ptrs or traffic exchanges myspace etc.. just get organic traffic and get them for a year.. if you are really serious about web business.. other wise take your credit card .. and throw on google adwords. with vouchers..
also jimmy before that.. you must check if your niche have any potensial.. for example say a person makes a new site about myspace.. he is sure that his niche have big market and visitors.. only have to reach the big market and visitors..
I'm specifically interested in how one goes about "getting lots of affiliates to promote your product..." I've started a product site about a month and a half ago that's doing quite well. But now we need to take it to a level that can't be done by ourselves, so we're looking for affiliates to get it rolling. What would be some good strategies to attract affiliates?
