I'm also thinking of passing this exam before I turn 17 (6 months left).
Any suggestion what things to lay more emphasis on ?
I'm just afraid of the exam objectives mentioned.
My OOP skills are horrible and haven't even touched XML related stuff.

I can send you some ebooks related to this if you want. They're specially to prepare for this exam.

And there will definitely be OOP questions, and at least one design pattern question too. And XML of course. There were 2 or 3 simple XML questions in my exam. These were kinda basic though, so I suggest you just learn it. SimpleXML is really easy once you get into it.


You should also be fully aware of security stuff. They'll ask about that too.

They send you an official document too, but it takes about 4 months to arrive. I found this on Google, so I guess this is more or less what you get:

Yeah, you have to find a test center near you on this site:

http://www.vue.com/

Then sign up through their website and that's it basically. Then you go on the selected data and take the exam. They tell you right after if you passed or not. It's validated by the computer.

 

So...you have to take the test with a bunch of other people who don't shower?

Lol, that depends. There are not really much people who actually take the test. In fact I'm the 15th in Spain who made it. So I was alone in the room taking the exam.

I did read another Zend Certification related ebook, but it was for the PHP 4 exam. It might be interesting to read as well. But I probably would have passed without it as well. PM me if you want it. And sorry, Commandos, lol... I forgot to send you the mail. I'll do it later at home.

 

I imagine this would be advisable to have as a freelancer, I've been coding for about a year now and understand all of those subjects...

What will this cerificate bring you ?
Is ıt only reference for you or will you work at zend team etc?

 

They'll increase my salary in 2008 thanks to the certificate. That's what it brought me so far.

But I'm not going to work for Zend or anything. I'll stay at my job for now. But with the certificate it'll be easier for me to find new jobs anytime.
