    No, you haven't been hacked.

That's at the bottom of everyone's GMail. As sweetfunny said, everyone is trialing a beta right now.

Plus, newer version is better. ;)

When I logged in yesterday, I noticed that my chat/sender name changed...I have the new version and this change only appears in the newer version...??

I'm wondering if the new version could be reverting to the personal name I used when i first established my account?? In the old version, though, I'd been using my email name as my default chat/sender name.

Anyone notice anything along these lines?

You can read more info about this here http://googlesystem.blogspot.com/2007/10/gmails-new-version-is-now-available.html

Anyone have any idea about how they select the beta testers?? I guess its not based on the age of ur gmail account as I registered the account when they launched their service....

Anyway let me check all my Gmail accounts.....

EDIT: After checking one of my new gmail account: WOWWWWWWWWW: Got it.............. I found that they activated this feature for new Gmail accounts.... COOOL

I have it in my GMail account. Apparently, this new version is given to select users (probably those who regularly use GMail, and those who just registered for GMail).
The features are not very visual [unlike Hotmail to Windows Live hotmail], but it includes new features like 'Contacts', and 'Filter messages like this'.

My oldest gmail account has the new version, along with the "Older Version" link on top.

My other few gmail accounts doesn't have the option of switching
