Ok, I'm having a hard time thinking of how am I going to beat cpc on my client's site. I mean he wants those traffic and sales he's getting from the cpc, to be came from organic when in fact he doesn't want to get rid off that cpc. any suggestion will be appreciated. :)

Take a pint of milk and 6 eggs.

Break the eggs into the pint of milk with shells. Crush and mix.

Take 3 ounces of chili powder and stir into the egg and milk mix.

    Pour contents into a jug.

Enter your client's office with jug of eggs, chilli powder and milk.

Approach client and pour contents of jug over head.

    Leave.

There's nothing wrong with using SEO & SEM at the same time - it'll eventually decrease cost from those keywords in the long run, since some traffic will be free & other will be paid.

I do this all the time, it's a great strategy - nothing to laugh at.

Its really very common for clients thinking like this... as they are paying for SEO and PPC.

If your clients need instant traffic, PPC is best way or else SEO can be done but then he needs to have passions. Give him brief explanations and let him choose what he want to do...

    Cheers

Am I being naive or is this not a normal request, using CPC to support a generic SEO campaign until it is established. After it is established refocus the efforts to specific products or services. Or provide two bites of the cherry on SERP's having a natural and sponsored presence?

I think he is.. and I'm goin' crazy man!

    yes dear!:)

yup! but he's still going to use the cpc.. and what he wants is that I should get same amount of traffic and sales in terms of organic like what he's getting from the cpc.. or maybe, more than that!

haha! oh, well! I wish he does!

...yeah! that's what I told him.. I even explained him that no matter how hard I try.. I wouldn't be able to beat cpc.. and he doesn't want to stop this cpc thingy, he wants me to beat it instead! If only I could deal with Mr. Larry Page! haha!

    thanks.
