Should I put my articles on my site too?

I have written some articles that I have submitted to different article directories. My question is should I also post them on my website? I am asking this due to the issues with duplicate content.

Another possibility is should I just link to them from my website at the actual directory? The reason I hate to do that is then I may bleed out some PR with the outbound link.

Lastly, I also have a blog that is on the sub directory of the website. It would also be nice to use these articles there, but that would seem repetitive. What would be the best thing to do on the blog regarding that content? Summarize it? Mention it and link to it?

Hmm depends on what you have written an article about, and why you have submitted it. If you have a website lets say on video games, and you have discovered some new information about an new upcoming game.

You would write a full article about it on your website, then submit that article onto a another site but in a shorter and less detailed version. This will follow with a link to your origonal and full detailed article.

However if your article is for a site like wikipedia, I would suggest not posting it on your site aswell. I am more then sure this will be treated as duplicate content, however I am not 100% sure.

As I have said, depends on what type/reason you have submitted articles in the first place. ;)

Always add more content to your site. You must absolutely alter the article and make it different from the one you submitted to the article directory.

Like I have said, if you create a large detailed article and add it to your site. Then create a less detailed and small article, following by a link to your site. Visiters will come to your site to read the more detailed article. ;)

great tip... I could use this for my websites in the future...

as for the wikipedia point, I agree with it too, and here's why (with an assumption though): Wikipedia (or an rqually popular article directory) gets a lot of traffic, than your website/blog might be getting... :)

You should definitely put your articles on your site, just make sure to change them up a bit.

    Awesome tip.

I think that is a very good question.
I'll say that you should put your own articles on your website and nowhere else. So then, you have unique content. But then, you are nowhere to be found. If you 'goarticles.com' your articles, yes, they'll be on 40,000 articles sites with your URL. Very well, but then you have duplicate content, penalized by Google!!! Beside, if you want to sell the site, buyers will see duplicate articles, so it has musch less value...
Bottom line, it's a tough decision...

I think the content is yours so you can do what you want with it... we post press releases and then add them to our website... they will then show up both in the search engines... I think articles may not count toward duplicate content because its not on your own website... if you had three websites with the same info that could be bad... but when you post a press release they sometimes send that info all over and alot of times those other sites will get indexed if the title is a good key word...

I think that you should always add as much content as you can to your website, especially if it is relavent. Good content brings people back.

I like the create the more detailed article for your site and submit a teaser like article to directories. Like they say always leave them wanting more.

I would suggest you to publish the articles only on your site. Why should u develop the content of other sites.

Write a refreshing content on your site and promote it.

Apparently there is no definite answer for this.
Personally I do use a blog for posting all the articles. As well I use article site submission. Not sure if that does make it duplicate content.
