This is bad news for American businesses and our economy. WASHINGTON (AP) - It's a nickname no principal could be proud of: "Dropout Factory," a high school where no more than 60 percent of the students who start as freshmen make it to their senior year. That description fits more than one in 10 high schools across America. Is there a bright side to this bad news? Maybe, there is money to be made by helping teach poor people?? Looks like a huge problem.
It does look like another problem contributing to the US economy... I never knew the drop out rate in the states would be so high!
That just seems incredibly ridiculous, since now more than ever, education is a necessity when it comes to finding a good job. I think it could be safe to assume the parenting skills have been suffering as well in todays generation.
I don't think this is the right place for this thread but.... It is a huge problem. Mainly fueled by the lack of funding in the states for schools, not to mention the crap pay for teachers.
That was years ago... and, they all went into business later on... Bill got college at least so we can't count him as a total drop-out.
I think he's correct about Gates being a college drop-out, so he went to high school. Henry Ford is known for paying well above average wages (years before unions were an issue) I didn't know he was a drop-out. Thanks, for finding a bright side.
The subject had been one of the most interesting one for me. Here's few more billionaires who were drop-outs. Allen paul [microsoft] Sheldon Adelson. [lasvegas casinos] Larry Ellison. [Oracle guy] Li Ka-Shing [almost in every business in china] Michael Dell [dell computers] there are a lot of billionaire dropouts, just search in google
