Ok, reporting back... my second ad unit, that didnt receive single click yet before this night, recieved 2 click with total value of $1.18! The days before it was only about $0.05.-$0.20 per click (I am in low-paying niche)... I only switched the ad unit for BidVertiser for few minutes :) AWESOME :D ... I hope it'll last little longer :)

i would also like to know as this thread is pretty old for someone to hear something back from google.

instead of removing the pub id, if i remove the entire adsense code, and put it back few days letter, would that produce the same result? anyone tested this?

no it doesn't work this way.
You must remove id.So if you do this adsense will still be shown, but because there are no publisher they not paying you.
This is why there will be high-paying ads

No, no one has been banned because of this as you can check from this thread as well. Also, this trick was published on many people's blogs with my permission, no one reported to be banned on those either so you can be sure it's all safe.

You need to remove only the pub id, not the whole code or else it won't work properly.

I'm still on the fence here. It seems like technical violation of the TOS, even though it's one we can say does not hurt Google or advertisers. I don't like trying to guess how Google will feel about something, because I've been wrong in the past. They used to support images next to ads, and then they decided they were against it and came down hard on people who were still doing it. I'd prefer to have permission from Google, in writing, before using a trick like this.

We are not supposed to alter the adsense code right? This is going to get you banned for sure.

I think removing pub id is the same as modifying adsense code.
I agree with davewashere that "It seems like technical violation of the TOS".

Then don't do it guys. If you're cowards, simply don't do it. I've said this many times in this thread, no one has been banned because of this. It has been 4 months or more since this thread has been opened. Got it?

Google only bans before payments are done. And if more and more people jump on this trick, it will become more likely you will get banned for it at one time.

I wouldn't risk my adsense account for this.

I think the trick is, google places high payed ads on your site as no publisher ID is found and the crawler gives up at some time, then you readd the publisher ID and google still is putting high payed ads on your site. But now you have the correct publisher ID, and will get payed.

They will find out about this if to many people are exploiting this.

I've read through probably half of all of the pages on this thread. I understand how it works, how to implement it, and I fully believe it is something that works and is not illegal. The problem is, every time I try to do it on my sites, no ads show up at all. Does it take time, like for the Google crawler to do something, or should ads keep appearing right away? Thanks for the info. :)

Instead of risking a ban, just take Adsense off your sites for a day or two. This is really easy if you have Wordpress and are using that "Adsense Deluxe" plugin. After two days, get a new Adsense channel, change your code/ID, and put the ads back in. Instant reset.
