Hi, my site is listed at position 8-10 for its main keyword after just 2.5 months. Also it's a PR5 already. I did a heavy link exchange campaing in beginning. Looking at my competitors, I noticed that those in position 1-5 in Google are just PR2-4 sites. My BL application shows that my backlinks are similar to my competitors, with some PR2-4 backlinks. None of my top competitors have high PR backlinks. So it seems to me that there is a lot of room for improvement. I'm thinking to buy 3-4 BL from authority sites, even some Pr7. Do you think this will quickly boost my listing? any suggestion?
Continue to build backlinks and try to get higher. You should aim to rank #1 for your keyword as it'll bring you even more traffic.
Yes that's exactly my target: to get #1 position. I'm told it can boost traffic 10x... i've not yet submitted to directories so maybe this is a way to go. oh, btw, another thing i noticed: 2-3 days ago my site went to #1 listing to almost all international google sites for the same keyword... the other listings are the same of Google US... #1 at US is # 2 at int. sites, #2 at US is #3 at int. sites... is this a sign that I'm going to reach top listing in Google US or am I too optimistic?
google is devaluing paid links and directories but i had high ranks for my adsense sites by commenting to high pr blogs those are free links
so you don't suggest directory submission? about blogs, aren't links in commenting generally published with the no follow tag?
what kind of promotion did you worked on to reach #1? and how much time did Google need to place you there?
Now you find yourself in the top 10 of results, your aim should be to ... 1) stay in the top 10 2) try and gain a position or two with each Google update 3) keep an eye on the positions of your competitors as well 4) keep working hard on link building, and adding content to your pages.
seems point 4 is everybody's suggestion... i'll do that! regarding point 2, can't I really move up more than 1-2 positions per google update, whatever I do?
