What is the best way to promote a proxy for free?

 

i am interested too ..

i think toplist site submission & promotion through groups would be on top here

 

Could you explain in plain english since I'm new in proxies stuff...
What's 'toplist'? is it a submission on toplist.com or something?
When you say 'groups', is it newsgroups? If yes, which one? looking at G groups for 'proxy' ??

 

"toplists", meaning websites that list and rank proxy sites. Search google for "proxy toplists" or "proxy topsites".

"groups", usually some yahoo groups related to proxy sites and proxy users.

You can also find some threads of DP members (in Buy, Sell, Trade) providing these services (submitting to topsites and groups) for some fee.

 

Proxy toplists... take a look at any proxy, like http://proxdiddy.com/, go to the bottom... see all the banners?

Go to all those sites and submit your proxy there.

 

Proxy Toplists are websites where you can submit your proxy site for inclusion. Usually for free although if you want your proxy site to get more exposure e.g. by highlighting it, putting it on the top etc, you need to pay. I have a list of 100+. PM me if you want it - I don't want to spam this thread

As far as groups are concerned, yes these are yahoo and google groups where people subscribe to receive fresh proxies. The best ones are moderated i.e. some proxy owners started them and they send their own proxies only or you need to pay to send your proxy. We are have been averaging 200+ uniques a day for the past 5 days! =)

 

I'm really doubtful for topsites, first they require a linkback, which i hate. So most of the list I will submit to proxy list instead. It's giving me pretty decent traffic too.

Or the best I would say is to get links at those niche proxy websites. *wink* *wink* those really send traffic! Lol..

 

Can you tell me more about this last sentence? What do you mean by 'niche proxy sites'?

Proxy Topsites are a good way to promote your proxy website.

There's a good web proxy toplist you can join at camogreen.com

It has no sites sign up as of yet so if you're quick you'll be #1

The best way that worked for me is Stumbleupon and Digg submission. Topsites were pretty much waste of time.

 

Myspace/facebook/stumble, are the best way you can promote freebies right now. Try them all!
