Hi there ! Another blogging question... I'm looking for a good "related posts" WordPress plugin, to show related entries at the end of each post. I tried the Wasabi plugin with no luck... I keep on having script error, even after manually inserting the script in MySQL. Any other plugin that might do the job ? Thanks !
Thanks a lot ! I'm gonna check them out right away, and I'll let you know which one works best for me
If using latest WordPress 2.3.1 these plugins worth the look: Simple Tags - http://www.herewithme.fr/wordpress-plugins/simple-tags has the option for related posts and .. WP 2.3 Related Posts - http://fairyfish.net/2007/09/12/wordpress-23-related-posts-plugin/ one I prefer. If using older version use UTW and include code to display related posts through inclusion on single.php Alex
I haven't update to 2.3 yet... I checked out the other links. I can't get the first one to work (still the script problem) and the two other show related posts on the web (instead of in my blog). I appreciate your help though, I'm just picky ;-)
For related posts on your own site, see the Related Posts plugin at either http://www.w-a-s-a-b-i.com or http://mike.blogdns.org/mikelu/
Hmmm... you're right. Both URLs are down. Attached. Hope this doesn't violate any DP rules.... Never mind: Google found me the new download site: http://wasabi.pbwiki.com/Related Entries There's even an updated version now.
I tried this one installing v2.0.4 on a wp2.3 blog - it installed OK no script error - but nothing appears on the existing posts - is there something I am supposed to do next to actually make it work? I activated the plugin, set the plugin options and ran the script successfully - nothing changed as far as I can tell
From the readme file included in the download: Note: I haven't upgraded to WP 2.3x yet - waiting for others to be the beta testers - but it works well for WP 2.2x.
ALTER TABLE `wp_posts` ADD FULLTEXT `post_related` ( `post_name` , `post_content` ) Code (markup): That should do the trick. You have to alter the database as otherwise the plugin is not able to 'read' the content and can't make any suggestions to what is related. If you don't do this you will keep on getting the error
Arkayne is re-launching at this moment - take a look at them for an easy to embed related links widget. They also cross websites, so you get the benefit of showing related links from other sites (if you so wish) and in turn get links from other sites.
Why don't you use plugin "Yet Another Related Posts Plugin". I use many related plugins but I like this much. It can help you to deal how "relate" posts by considering title, body, tag, category.
