    FYI: In case you haven't heard Dr. Ron Paul is running for USA President in 2008.

    Congressman Ron Paul: Archives (Dr. Ron Paul in his own words and brilliant writings)
    ~~~~~~~~~~
    Funny and True: HQ Staff Asks Paul Supporters To Stop Flooding Them With E-mail :)
    Dr. Ron Paul's headquarters released two 30 second videos on You Tube this weekend.
    • They are both commercials to show in New Hamphsire
    • The second one is very popular, and getting great feedback.
    • The first new ad was awful!
    • How bad was it???
    • The first 8 to 10 hours there was over 30,000 views and more than 3,000 comments.
    • Almost every comment was from shocked supporters who did not want to have the ad shown anywhere. :eek:
    In case you don't know:
    • Some Paul supporters have a bad reputation for "being too active."
    • We 'post in every corner of the Internet', and...
    • When the media publishes an unfair (smear) article, or comment on TV, 'we' flood their E-mail system with huge amounts of feedback.
    The facts above do annoy some people.
    It also shows Dr. Ron Paul has the support of Americans who care enough to take action.
    • Why don't other candidates draw in many thousands of supporters who are motivated enough to speak up and take action???
    ~~~~

    The funny part:

    After the really bad (first) new TV ad was posted on YouTube, and the number of comments was ~3,000+:
    • I saw a comment posted by a member of Ron Paul HQ.
    • He (or she) said "The ad is not set in stone, it can still be changed...
    • ...you need to stop flooding us with E-mails about this ad" :D

    I would hope both Ron Paul's supporters and pro-Big Government people would find this story at least a little bit funny and entertaining.

    Sigh, almost as bad as a Freeper. Read around, the stupid story about him being a racist is long debunked.

    Old outdated lies, he never wrote that.
    • Ron Paul has such an honest reputation (even among people who disagree with him), your old outdated lies don't do any good. :p

    ~~~~~~
    Edit: P&R has enough depressing threads.
    This one is supposed to highlight something funny
    :)
    Could you give me an example where Ron Paul has done something (voted, supported, sponsored) contrary to how he has promised to act?
    I've not seen any debunking. In fact, we continue to see more and more "coincidences" crop every week.
    I have noticed that rp supporters tend to make up their own facts.
    • Fact: Ron Paul is not racist
    • He views people as individuals, not collective groups.
    • By definition, it is impossible to factually call him a racist.
    ~~~

    Problem:
    Some of his positions can easily be mis-understood as racist, but...
    ...this does not prove anything bad about Dr. Paul.

    Did you know Ron Paul voted against giving medals to people like Rosa Parks and Mother Theresa and the Dalai Lama?

    He objected to the use of taxpayer's money in that manner. Instead, he issued a challenge to each Congressperson to fund the medals from their own pockets, at a cost of about $70 each. Funny...no one took him up on the offer.

    How much would it of cost each tax payer? Around what, $0.0001? Just plain silly.

    Yes, this is called being brave enough to stand up for principles, and not 'selling out' when under pressure.

    ~~~
    I would think some of his fellow members might have been nice enough to come up with just $70 for each medal.
    Back on topic:
    I think it's funny :p
    The government takes our taxes to fund themselves and their operations. Why exactly is every taxpayer liable to pay taxes on frivolous shit like these medals? Sure, when you calculate out the cost, it's fractions of a cent. Then you add in pork funding here, stupid honorary banquet there, and before you know it, a significant amount of cash coming out of every American's pockets is being spent on crap that doesn't fund our government. I'm not surprised you're a Democrat, because hell, it's sure easy to spend cash when it's not your own.
    If you have followed this thread for a while, and even some recent posts, you know that calling it "my Republican party for 8 years" is disingenuous. I don't like most politicians on both sides of the rope, and typically lean Democrat on social issues, and lean Republican on fiscal issues. I blame Republicans more for the current state of the country, but it's quite clear that almost every politician in both parties is responsible for our ridiculous spending.
    Now you're bringing color into it? His decision from what I know surely was not because of color, it was because of his stance on tax payer money.
    He wanted to pay for them himself and the rest of congress, wouldn't that be more sincere than stealing the money from the people?
    BTW to those who keep finding these little stories to try to character assasinate Paul, it trully is making myself lean more and more to him. Reminds me alot of the way Bush did to McCain last time around. One reason I lost respect for Bush, not simply because of Iraq or any other reason ;)
    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/james-boyce/mitt-romney-coward-or-ra_b_36941.html
    Using their same logic, finding any story I guess Romney is a coward and or racist. :rolleyes:
    Do some searches and you can find stories on any candidate. Have groups trying to discredit a candidate and you'll come up with all sorts of crap, funny that it appears the only one anyone cares about at the moment is Paul.
    I wasn't trying to bring color in, just trying to prove it was a silly mistake. It won't help him during primaries or general elections if he even makes it there. I wonder who are all these ron paul supporters are going to vote for when he doesn't win the primaries? :confused:
