How much back links are enough?

I m in a phase of link building for my new site, How much links are enough for 2 months old site. more then 500 links will be harmfull for 2 month old site.

 

u have to keep building links on a ongoing basis. there is no way to tell how many links are enough. depends lot on your competition. see how many back links are you competitirs having each. then target to have more than that but span the link building effort over 6-8 months.

 

but as per my experience gaining mass linking is harmfull for a new sites, google consider it spamming

 

Depends. if you get a lot of high quality links you will likely be ok. If you get a lot of low quality links /blog comments, low quality directories etc) you might be in trouble.

 

I don't think there's ever enough. You must build links continuously so that you rank better on SERPs and maybe even get a nice bump on your PR. It's not you fault other sites link to you, now is it

 

100% agree. you have to keep building. thats the key. now if you just start a site and get 100k backlinks just by msg board posting and comment spamming in one month and think you had enough backlinks, then you are in trouble. but if you keep building links in more natural way, then how many backlinks you get in a month doesn't matter. as long as they are natural and you keep building. be consistant, thats the key

 

As I see it, you can never get enought linkbacks.

I don't think its bad to get 500 linkbacks in two month. I have a site that got about twich that in two month, by getting people to like my content and write about it.

 

10 - 15 backlinks which from high PR of other websites are enough to increase PR of your site. Google will brings your site to the top spot for particular keyword.

 

Yes that's true but how many of these sites are willing to link to you. I only wish a PR8 site would link to me but the changes of that happening are slim. Anyway if anyone has a PR8 site and is feeling generous please feel free to link me.

 

No kidding, heck it would be solid if you had ONE link that came from a PR8 site. Let alone 10-15.

You can get as many as you can as long as you gain your links in a natural way and those links are related to your site.

 

2 quality link per day would be good = about 60 quality backlinks for 2 months old site.

 

if you are getting backlinks using white hat methods, hoard them!

 

although I 100% agree that you need to keep building, but being on top of SERP for a certain keywords, DOES NOT depend on the number of backlinks and pagerank. It also depends on the quality of your content and linking structure of internal pages.

I have seen many times that a site with less than 10 backlink and pagerank of say 1 beats a site with hundreds of backlinks on google and yahoo and pagerank of 5 for a certain keyword.

I agree. also using keyword as anchor text will also help you improved SERP.

 

That depends on where you are getting your links from. Submit away freely at Web/Article directories. Heck, it would probably take a week or two just to review your submission then another week or two for the active link to be spidered.

I build thousands of links per day for clients using linkbait. The more the better.

As long as they are natural links you will be fine.

 

Don't forget you want quality links not just quantity... and vary your anchor text!
