Microsoft Word does not pick up all grammatical errors.

Paste the above in Microsoft Word. It will not pick up the mistake. Anyway, I'll be happy to pass this onto one of my proof readers, at the rate of $12/hour (the speed will depend upon the complexity of the salesletter).

Yup, I totally agree with you; Microsoft Word is NOT a good grammar checker.
Clookid, I'm really interested with your proof reader, but how can I tell the job requires xx amount of time?

Hi, Astroman, my grammar is terrible too, that's why I need someone REALLY GOOD at grammar to check my work. Anyone you know?

    ***

    Question for everyone...

How many people who born at USA, but he/she still terrible at grammar? (In percentage)...

Would you mind telling me the word count of the letter? I shall then be able to make an estimate.

Also, I am not particularly sure about the percentage. However, I do know that most of the writers that I have hired from the USA aren't actually as great as I have expected. I am a writer from New Zealand, and I always manage to find a few mistakes in my writing when I take a quick proof read. In fact, I haven't come across a writer that has written a piece without any mistakes.

    Hi,

The word count is 4,400 words. Mind you that I just need a great grammar check, not a rewrite or anything.

Sooo... you're saying that NOT even the best native-american, USA-born, perfect-english-speaking writer can write with no grammar mistake?

    Hi,

Thanks for all the PMs, but I'm still looking for a more qualified grammar checker here...

If you want your work proofread and/or spell checked by a professional writer, send me a PM with the length and price you're looking to pay. I have exceptional grammar, despite not being born in the United States. Remember, not all writers from one country will be good; just as not all writers from one country will be bad :)

I am not "quite" saying that. I am saying that it is possible for anybody to make a mistake, and it is question that is simply not judgeable.

Anyway, I can make an assumption that it would take approximately two and a half hours.

If I may butt in, let me just say that even the "best native-american, USA-born, perfect-english-speaking writer" would tell you that it's impossible not to make mistakes. That's why magazine pieces and books pass through such rigorous editing process -- even if they're penned by great writers.
