i will try this and see if it works my pagerank has not change since 3 year now i am must do something wrong
I don't use nofollow tags on my site because I am not getting any spam comments. I will not take any spam comments and really short comments. Those two indicate (to me) that the person is only after a link. The site is Burn Development
Not only I Do Follow but also have a CommentLuv plugin which will pull latest post from your blog and add its title with SEO enabled link. Comment on my blog and if it is not a spammy comment - I will follow and will leave your link in tact. Do Follow is set to remove "nofollow" after comment is 5 days old to prevent spam comments making it.
I think Google dont want us to use this plugin and wants bloggers to use "NOFOLLOW" in links on comments
Nofollow is not necessary as long as you verify you are not linking to sites that are against the guidelines. I don't use nofollow and haven't had any problems with span that Akismet couldn't handle. In fact, I get 1-2 visitors a day from different dofollow-lists so it's a good thing.
Yellowberry don't think you're doing anything wrong. Sure an increase in PR is nice but you have managed to maintain the traffic and PR and that in it self is a great accomplishment.
I actually created a blog post about this topic a couple of days ago. Here it is: getblogged.info And I am getting the exact same amount of spam and zero good comments as I did before I turned off nofollow.
I have created a site directory for sites and blogs with do follow Feel free to submit if you have a do follow
I have dofollow on my blog . I get about 20 commentators per day on avg. I feel that it has helped my blog interest and participation.
I have blogs with both the nofollow and the dofollow. I am actually getting more spam on the nofollow blog. Either way, nofollow is not the answer to spam, a good spam filter will catch the majority of it, and moderating your blog will do the rest. I've started a list of good dofollow blogs here, http://blogs.adison.edu/websitepromotion/do-follow-blogs/. I don't get to add to it frequently enough but there are some pretty good blogs to add comments to in it.
I am staying away from that plugin... as I hate spam and also... i dont want to risk my rankings in seach engines... Should I risk my SERPs for some spam comments? And if the visitor have something to say honestly then most probanyly he will do thta no matter u follow or not follow the links....
