Advertise virtually anything here, with CPM banner ads, CPM email ads and CPC contextual links. You can target relevant areas of the site and show ads based on geographical location of the user if you wish.

Starts at just $1 per CPM or $0.10 per CPC.

AVOID THIS: dont make this mistake like widgetbucks.

widget bucks places hidden links behind the flash animation of their ads. that is hidden links, and google banned them, now make a search for widgetbucks, and you wont find the site (maybe only on sponsored results)

this maybe a google tactic, so sites like this have to pay to be listed on google first results.

anyway, its a bad idea to place hidden links so sites link to you.

I beg to disagree, why they will? if there is hidden links then that is a violation of their guidelines. They are making guidelines for everybody not for an individual site.

I don't think widgetbucks need to deploy this tactic to get to the top for the keyword - widgetbucks.

I think the idea was that the users who turn off javascript will see some texts instead of blank spaces in the adspace.

Their sin was changing those texts into links.

Widgetbucks have just changed their code. I guess they've learnt their lesson, the hard way :D

im not saying don't use it. im saying that if you are going to develop links, don't place them in hidden places, cause it isn't ethical, remember this is "link development" forum...

That's exactly what happened. If for some reason the ad doesn't load it would display a link to their site or whatever. I never thought this would be a problem but since i don't like widgetbucks I guess I better just take the code down.

Actually widgetbucks does not use hidden links

They link to their adserver just like any other Ad serving company does.

Don't people think before posting rumors without fact???

turn off javascript and you can see it.

widget bucks places (or used to place) a text link behind the flash ads, people just cant see them,
    thats why they are hidden.
(widget bucks didnt do it for seo, they did it for people with javascript turned off, or at least that is what i think)
    ----------------------------------------
if you place links to other sites with the same color as your background, they will be hidden, and thats not ethical, if someone reports you to google.. maybe youll drop some in the serps.
