I'd like to both thank you for your input, and dissagree with you. It seems that in life the guy who works honestly is only second to the guy who has money and no morals
But the guy with money most likely worked for it, unless he came from a rich family of course and had access to their bank account. There are people who work hard, and people who take credit. Try to be the hard worker, it will pay off in many ways in the future.
You cant be the only one with that idea, someone will copy you no matter what you make, if they like it they will copy it just enough so its not copyright but its so dam close! Just like someone said, myspace and face book, now look at yuwie.com etc, you cant do nothing, just advertise and beat him thats what business is about, owning your competitors.
I really have to put my 2 cents in here, Hecky. First of all, I agree with you and understand how you feel. I also understand what they are saying as well. There is competition everywhere and the world is made up of alot of thieves and people out just to take from others because they have no mind or thought proccess of their own. The upside to all of this irony is...You ARE 13!!! You are coming up with fantastic ideas like this at your age? Do you know how progressed and successful you will be at 30 or even 20 if you keep this up? My point is, at the moment I know you're in the middle of it, but really, don't let this get you this down and discourage you from moving forward. Just take it in stride as a learning experience and move on. Keep on keeping on with what you're doing and evolve into bigger and better things. You have alot of potential for someone your age, and you will go alot farther in life than someone out to steal your ideas. Just know next time to copyright it, and then if it happens again, you have the means to sue the crap out of the next person to attempt this.
since he uses adsense, first thing u can do is to report to google regarding this, but then ur domain needs to be older than his
Hi guys I just found something interesting looks like this guy is not the only one copying I found this on SL http://www.scriptlance.com/projects/1193291342.shtml So looks like theres even more competition
Over the years, I have had several of my sites copied by people with no imagination. It is bad, but there is not much that can be done about it I am afraid.
This is happening alot these days not much you can do since by the time you go through all that trouble its not really worth it. Its a good idea you just put it up for sale, you can just make another site with that money. But if you really want to do something just contact the host they will take it down to avoid being taken down too.
You have missed the whole point of this site. The idea is that the space is updatable. Im not going to try and claim I invented the idea of putting text onto an image.
This kind of thread worries me a bit, by law you cannot legally trademark or copyright an idea or rather you can't normally. Blockbuster recently was sued by netflix because they began offering movies for rent by mail, netflix somehow was able to file a patent for the concept of renting movies by mail however the amazing thing is netflix wasn't even the first to do it. If you visit blockbuster.com you can clearly see that they are still offering this service and you can find an interesting article about it below. Another great example are the numerous myspace clones out there which base their designs literally on the design of myspace and you don't see them filing lawsuits, people clone almost everything and anything that is successful, I am sorry that someone went and did this however this is the reason you must work hard to create something that is so unique it would be hard for some else to steal easily and also you should focus more on maintaining your service than worry about what someone else is doing. There will always be thieves but to be fair they aren't really stealing since they are just applying the same concept in a different way and just so you know you are not the first with this Idea. 1.dude buy all the domain extensions possible 2. just promote your site normally, he copied yours and it will have a negative effect on him and positive on you, just like the million dollar website
Edit: I dont think he is claiming the idea as his own just the design? Correct me if im wrong cant be bothered to click page one lol Its happend to me I lost out on £1000's (Not silly dollars BUT £££) You learn from your mistakes and try not to make them again If you havent lost out on money then dont worry There is a lot to learn and i dont care what anyone says "if you are a guru then why are you sat at home posting 200 times a day instead of sitting in the sun sipping pims and Smashing PU**Y
Unfortunately, that's the nature of doing business online. Some of the most successful ventures online are clones of others. Do you really think Myspace was the first social site of it's kind?
Haha I like your response, I think your clever enough to know you need to forget this copycat site and continue promoting your own site.
Hey guys so much for this thread what was the point Hecky has now sold his mysticky.net, what a pointless thread.
