am testing my website.but don't know how make the earth in the left hand side rotating like a flash animation.do you have any ideas? website test address:http://xyh.nhome.cn/cim/
heya.... replace the globe in flash with a circular mask and make a tween for a flat map to go right to left.... making it seem as if its spinning
Or alternatively, you can take different portions of the world map, put the pictures sequencly in each Keyframe and Create a Motion Tween.
Thanks your idea. but it seems not nature with your method.I want to get the effect like Google earth rotating. Also i want to the change the flash format into Gif format.I am not sure whether there is any initial flash codes about it in Internet, because i am not good at Flash ,especially at aesthetics.
there isnt a code for that... if you want an actual 3d globe moving like google earth you'd either need to render it in a 3d software and export the animation in gif OR you could get around 20-50pics of the globe in different positions and tween it as xavier 3d said....
yes ,around 20-50pics of the globe are too heavy for a website. the following is the flash rotating earth just 19K only. Test address:http://xyh.nhome.cn/cim/flash/3D-rotatearth.swf
Man, that's agonizing to watch load - and I'm on broadband. Honestly, my advice is DON'T. I'd axe ALL of the flash so it loads in a decent amount of time... and re-encode most of the images. That image up top is easily three times the filesize it should be - which is odd because it LOOKS like it's got some hardcore artifacting despite having little or no actual encoding on it. (what is that, 2% or so?) Same for the handshake and... well, I guess all the images. I'd suggest adding some padding to... well, all the elements as having the text running up against the borders makes reading it difficult. Bottom line though - the animations are 'cute', but also distracting, a waste of bandwidth, and as with most uses of flash on a website for anything other than a video or game the user clicks to start themselves - a really BAD idea.
