Higher PR does not mean your traffic increases. You should have natural (contextual) links to your page, provide unique-content on your site and it shouldn't look spammy.
No, because only visible PR was updated. Internal google PR updates continuously and now your site already has traffic for its rank.

you have the same page rank as before, the only difference is that google decided today to make it public. SO, the traffic will not increase. Who said that if you have links from high pr site will automatically increase your serps is wrong, you can have a link from a high pr site with an anchor text totally irrelevant to what you want to rank for, and that won t help you much.
Well your exactly right , 1 or 2 PR links isn't going to do much, 20 PR2 and PR5 backlinks and 1 or 2 PR7..Then you most likey will notice some results... But you go and buy 2 PR3 backlinks and get angry feeling like your wasted your money.. Well you expected to much...
I think PR is the most leading parameter in SEO... people overate it ... Leave it and start building quality websites. PR and traffic will come automatically.
PR is like an award. When you have several quality links, you will likely receive high PR. In other words, you will be given high PR if you are being linked by several quality links. So, you must have traffic first in order to have PR. But if you already have high PR, most likely, many sites would like to link to your site.
my sites went from a pr n/a's to pr 4's and my traffic from referring sites increased,but no increase in google traffic
I had about a 20% jump in traffic on my PR0 to PR3 Site. Im very happy with that and just hope it steady's out and I dont lose it all for weeks at a time. edit: Im noticing more yahoo traffic, and that could be the cause.
