I am asking myself how the link prices will go ... up or down ... or how...
because after this update, i have websites with XX thousands of backlinks that got the same PageRank as my girl friend HI5 webpage!

I have now One PR7 domain and I will sell links on homepage for 200$/month

I think prices will go up! I don't see many PR7 right now!

I also have 3 PR6 directory - and I will sell links there for 50-70$/month

Most expensive PR7 link i have ever seen in my life, the "most" i've ever paid is $50.

As for link prices, i don't think they will change alot.

If You think that this is expensive check some old PR7 websites and check their new PR if they have PR6 they a very lucky:) Many PR8 goes to PR7 so it's normal that price will go up (also many PR9 go to 8).

Not really, some went down and some went up.. The volume of PR7 site's online hasn't changed that much.

Prices will pretty much stay the same. Buying text links is a very risky business and I wouldn't gamble my sites PR on it.

profesjonalna has it right imho, for 2 reasons.

    1. PR has dropped on average.

    2. As Emperor says, it is riskier to sell now, so prices must go up to pay seller for the risk they are taking.

Prices for PR5 links should be at least what PR6 prices were last month.

Prices in my mind will drop, now a lot of sites that sell text links will use the rel="nofollow" attribute to not get penalized for selling that text link. This means those text links will just be for traffic and not weigh in on SERPs or PR. They sites that do contiune to sell will probably just keep getting penalized and find they can't even sell one text link.

This again is just an assumption I'm making and could be wrong.

PR is showing to be very inconsistent now, so the value of PR and high PR links would obviously lose value. Once google starts giving higher PR to personal pages on social network sites, and less to authority sites, it's not something you can take seriously any more.

I don't think most of you are seeing the picture. Many sites dropped their PR because they were buying cheap text links from dropped domains. Meaning Google penalized those sites at took their PR

I would never buy text links only in text links... It's not the same.

This is not true - the reason why some PR is now lower is ONE - please check backlinks and You will see. Another thing is that google change PR algo and now to get higher PR You need to get more high PR links (I have one PR7 and to get it I have about 10 PR8 backlinks and about 50 PR7 and more then 500 PR6) so this time it was really hard to get high PR - the real reason why people who say something else don't want to know real reasons or they read info like this on "seo" blogs :) so please think when You read!

no point buying link with nofollow?
most people buy link because they want the PR juice or at least want google to follow the link to crawl their sites.

Just my 2 cents (1.2 cents after taxes) but I can see link prices through link brokers like TLA and such going down as available inventory dries up since its obvious that webmasters are being burnt by Google for using them.

However, that's going to create a decreased supply of ad spots available for advertisers, which when coupled with the increased risk to webmasters for selling links will likely cause a rise in the pricing on private sale deals.

Of course, that's just my opinion based on the assumption that the basic principles of supply and demand will be in play. That hasn't always seemed to be the case with link advertising though, so I could be completely wrong.

I'm sorry but I do think I'm right. How do you think people get links from PR7 sites??? They buy them...

If you take a look that the BTS link sales section you'll see this first hand. Anyone selling PR7 links makes a killing because everyone wants in. What they don't ask is where did he get that PR7 domian. Many times they are dropped domains so the PR will only last until the next update. Another way to obtain these links in to buy posts on blog networks. These networks are penalised because they contain hundreds of duplicate posts that serve no value.

I agree they buy them but many of that sites are now PR4-5! Thats why they lost his PR6/7 !!!

Many times they are dropped domains so the PR will only last until the next update. - This time it will be hard to find domain like this:)

I agree on this with You! That's why I will sell blog posts but they must be uniqe! (it will be 3 PR6 blog posts + 3 PR6 directory listing for 100$ one-time payment).

For sure - simple economics at work here. Greater risk == greater reward for the webmasters.
