You know, I was actually digging more into this Paul guy, but all the spam I keep getting from people about RP is driving me to the point where I don't want to give this guy another look..

What gives.. Why are people constantly spamming for Ron Paul? I wonder what Ron's stance on spam is? It certainly looks like his campaign is behind this judging from the origins of the spam our system has been killing..

    Love that avatar btw...!

I doubt it is Ron himself, but it is likely his campaign, from what I can tell, and it's a bit on the annoying side... Nothing like sending Ron Paul for President spam to support emails and dns submission emails..

Do what you would do with any other spam. Report it.

It is definitely not the campaign, but it could be the grassroots. There are some misguided people who think that the RP campaign hasn't already won the battle on the web and needs to work on the ground now.

I'd be interested to see what they are spamming you with, because I will report it to the grassroots community and see if we can't shame the folks doing it into stopping altogether. Assuming they mix with the folks who campaign ethically, but hey, it's worth a try.

I did. I reported it to the (FEC) Federal Election Commission.

It would appear to be coming both from the campaign and from grassroots offshoots..

Misguided seems to be the key word here in both camps..

I'm not too concerned with it... My spam filters are catching them. I figure the FEC can take care of it, that or it will just go to dev/null..

What lead you to believe it was coming from the campaign?

You must have missed when Ron Paul smacked him back during a special presser held in Washington.

wow, I didn't expect that out of the Daily Kos.

I think a lot fewer people would support RiP if they knew what he really stood for.

Is that when paul was nearly booed off stage for making some lunatic remarks at the last debate? Not only once, but twice!

I used to think maybe RiP was someone I could vote for. But then I learned out how he intended to get rid of the IRS.

I guess RiP values money over freedom.

we now have people coming in from different camps that are 'spamming' in the name of ron paul. i've never been spammed or heard of w/e it is you're talking about but it sure does sound like a great excuse to not care about what he stands for.

The income tax is currently 30% of US spending.

Removing 30% from the budget would return spending to Year 2000 levels.

In order to facilitate this cut, departments like IRS, DHS, FEMA, DOE, ED etc could be cut, along with the $1 trillion annual expenditure on US foreign policy.

Not only would Americans keep 100% of their income but we might have a few hundred billion left over to gracefully manage social security and reduce the deficit.

When they are building a $750 million dollar embassy in Iraq, and continue to borrow from the Chinese on behalf of the American citizens to do it, this sounds like a win-win to me.

I was thinking about Ron Paul yesterday and it dawned on me that the "support" I have been seeing is only on the internet and even a large majority are not even Americans, so they couldn't even vote.

I will have to start asking people if they even know who Ron Paul is around here.

I wonder if his support base uses Macs too?
