I don't know the answer for software. I am sure it is out there somewhere. Just wondering though what a directory owner would see? Seems auto submit would have to find a place to dump submission. Forcing the directory owner to take a couple minutes to find the right place to add the submission or just reject it. Wouldn't they just reject it out of hand rather than do the the little bit they are asking of you?

I own several directories,, and It's really annoying to see people submitting their sites to root directory....

How about using some kind of auto-fill programs instead of automated directory submission software?

I thought about using auto submission software. But from my basic research I decided to go with manual submission. It seems like you have a better shot of getting index that way.

Here are my top manual submission solutions:
    www.handsubmit.com (I used this service @ $128)
It took my site from a Yahoo Rank of 256 to today's rank of 12 on YAHOO!!!

handsubmit.com looks like they charge $128 to submit to 40+ SEARCH ENGINES - not directorys.

screw search engine submission, it's not needed. Do directory submissions and the search engines worth being in with crawl links to find you. And $128? Your joking. You can do that yourself in like an hour, and on top of that "search engine" submission doesn't affect your rankings. Do you think Google, Yahoo, MSN, AOL, Ask, or any of those check to see if your website is listed in each others serps and gives you a ranking boost for that? So, what, thats your site then huh? Self promotion is cheesy.

    Dummm dum dum dum dummmmmmmmmmmmm....

One of the best way to promote your site/product is writing your own article and submit it to article sites/mail lists. Check my signature for the software which can post your articles to hundreds of article sites/mail lists automatically. And, it is much cheaper than $128.

I would definately advise against this.
Most directories forbid it and it can get yor site and IP banned for evermore...
So spend some time and effort OR pay some of the very nice people offering a manual submission service in this forum for a small price. ;)

well, on eBay there are many web submission softwares which are being sold around $20 and believe me, they do work...You could do it manually by using the following website:
    http://www.freewebsubmission.com/

Although I suggest that you "rent" or "borrow" an E-Mail from a free E-Mail program like Yahoo! or Hotmail because these things might send a few spam as well!

In addition, these directories are usually indexed by Google (I have experience) and that helps with your Page Rank as well! That means that a little free traffic from Google as well!!

Article Submit Gold V2.0 automatically article submitter software; you can post your articles, over the 5000 articles directory automatically.

Article Submit Gold V2.0 is the only completely "Article Directory Friendly" submission software. No one will be able to tell your articles were submitted through a submission software. And you"ll never have to worry about getting banned for improperly submitted articles.

The true benefit of article submission comes only when you have a large number of articles posted to a large number of submission sites.

In these days of Internet Marketing, link popularity is determined by how many hundreds or even thousands of links you have pointing back to your site.In other words, a few links just won"t cut it anymore.

So this means that if you"re going to build your site"s popularity, you need to submit, submit, and then submit some more. Now if you"ve ever done this, you know it takes a heck of a lot of time and can be very frustrating. That is, it used to take a lot of time, and it used to be very frustrating.

The Article Submit Gold V2.0 lets you:
Create and Modify a Text article. When done the Text article can be transformed into HTML
Create and Modify an HTML article. When done the HTML article can automatically be transformed into text.

Automatically grab an article off your website through the program and have it fill in all the text areas perfectly ready for submission in under one second.

Create and modify any number of bio boxes. You choose the one you want depending on the article being submitted. The bio box can be merged with the article, as some sites require it, or not.
Create and modify an unlimited number of Author names and websites so you can work all your niche markets easily.

Input and store your login info for each article submission site that requires it, and uses it whenever it"s needed.

Select which websites you want to submit to, and Article Submit Gold V2.0 will determine what each article submission site requires for an acceptable submit, format your article to satisfy those requirements, and fill in as much of the forms as possible.

Makes editing a breeze because everything is stored separately with easy access tabs.
Gives you full control of how your article looks, and where it goes.

Keep a record of all the articles you've submitted, and its built-in Spam Preventer makes it virtually impossible to accidently send in the same article to a submission site more than once.
Have loads of extra time to work on other things, like writing more articles.

And best of all, with Article Submit Gold V2.0, you only have to enter your information and article once.

Fires off your article to more than 5000 submission sites and tons of Ezines (this version with more to come).

Its all a time factor. If the automated takes a couple minutes compared to a couple of hours do the automated. You will get indexed regardless if the article is accepted. Time frames depend on the PR and how often the directory is getting indexed by the bots. I would go automated and then the directory's that i keep getting refused i would then to a manual sumbission so i could get in as many article directorys as possible.
