I know a lot of members on DP forums aren't from an English Speaking country but it never stops to amaze me how well everyone still speaks on the forums (granted there are those still in the early stages of it). So how long has everyone been speaking English? I myself am a Native speaker but I do know French, so I know how much dedication it takes to learn how to properly speak a language.
I started learning it when I was 5. But since I kinda never got a chance to speak English, I have to admit it's not that good.
^^ Lol, I feel you. I wish I could speak as good as I can write. I've been learning since I was 8, I think. Then I moved to Spain and kinda stopped leaning since the people here barely speak English, and the people who do, speak terrible. I continued learning when I got internet. I learned a lot in forums, and the web in general.
I started posting on forums 5 years ago so you could say I've only been writing (not speaking) English for 5 years and counting. I suck when it comes to speaking English but I guess I can atleast convey my message on forums and on IMs
Uhmmm.. I think I was about 8 when I really started learning English. Had no clue what 'how are you' meant before that. Anyways, I went to school in a foreign country so the only language I could communicate with was English so I picked it up pretty fast
Some of you guys speak perfect English. I guess I just don't understand how you could write it fine but not speak it well. Is it pronounciation that is stumping ya?
I am whoever I want to be Lets stay ontopic or we will get this thread closed ASAP! Pms are best for this sort of question friend
That's some talent. What version of the Guinness Book of World Records can we find you in? I learned English and Spanish at the same time, both since I was born. I've been speaking it since I was about 1 though.
a few years, I mostly learned it online, chatting, writing emails, reading posts etc... In fact I can write and read it but cannot speak very well ahah! I speak Italian, do business in English and college in French...
