    It's not all about "link selling". For example you, as advertiser;
where would like to advertise, on a high PR or low PR site?

I hope you get my point, it's not all about link selling.

Why would an advertiser buy an ad on a high PR site? To get PR, I guess. There are many low PR sites which receive larger amounts of traffic (and have better SE rankings) than high PR sites.

    You didn't get my point.

Sure, traffic is far more important than PR attribut.

I was talking about "trusting" sites.

Oh. Okay... but don't you think people won't be able to determine the real reputation of sites if everyone just buys links for PR (and for trustworthiness)? Sure, they can say that a reputable company can pay for lots of things, but that's just money, and it can't prove someone to be trustworthy.. That's just my opinion. :)

Well we can hope though :D

But I agree but I also believe Google is shooting themselves in the foot. Sure its not fair that the guy with the most $$ wins the SEO battle, but it works pretty well most of the time, plus there are free ways to outdo even the biggest buyers!

Heck I rank higher then google, yahoo and msn in some relative terms that they are in. So it can be done for free like I do it.

Has Google's Q4 PR update started yet ? Are people seeing changes in their PR ?

I am asking because the last update was a fortnight late. Was that delay carried forwarded or the delay was made up by Google ?

If you are link to apr 7 and pr 6 that will be a prob as this what they want to stop the pr going to your web site they are after after web sites getting there on there own eg buy links not aprob as long as it uese the nofollow tag and ever one will be happy pr rank will not get you rich any more it be down to good content the surfers want to find.

Well after seeing the same results in DC's for sites like phpbb.com yesterday, they are back to showing different results again today.

Just my guess, but i don't think this is Googles Official update , but merely a penalization period for sites that are selling links.

Pretty sure that would make no difference to google. For one, the links that they sell are redirects, so there is no pr passed and for two, they know that it's about how many people click the link, not the pr it passes.

Interesting. But Google can't be this cheap to have different internal and external PR just for deceiving or similar purpose.

But your theory is false, since we also have seen heavy changes in serps for the sites which experience PR drop.

I really hope Yahoo or MSN best if they can combine and issue their own Page ranks in order to weaken Google power on this.

Google has tighten the grip on the sites who were selling links.. so it would be all tough again also... and moreover the sites who lost thier PR will be trying to make them better again.. so hell lot of competition ..:)
