    I wonder how the mozilla guys spent the $66m per year! I doubt it costs that much to release a couple of updates now and the!??

    Yes, firefox broswer is under GPL, but company which develops it and which finance it is not under GPL :)

    It won't be an instant hit, why would we use Google browser, when we had Firefox and IE? Google would be better of just taking over Firefox and branding it under their name.

    Firefox is everyone's choice. So, they would never build any competitive browser. Everybody believes firefox is the best in browsers and google would let it remain in its place IMO. Google is the best in its own domain and their domain is much larger.

    IE do not have to do the same, it is a loss leader for Microsoft, the aim of IE is not to earn money but to win the market share in the browser wars. It is fully funded by Microsoft and hence do not need to fight for its survival and earn money as in Firefox.

    I do not support for buying. FF is Open Source and i will never would like that it goes to google. Though i prefer that partnership between both continues.
