I was able to get my site listed in the top 10 for my kewyords: "Orange County Wedding Videographer", "Las Vegas Wedding Videographer", and "Los Angeles Wedding Video". However, my site is 8 months old and its beeen an uphill battle to move up any higher. I want to get in the top 3. Can anyone look at my site and give some advice. I ve bough some high PR directory domains, article marketing, reciprocal link exchange, etc, but the effects seem to be plateued. http://www.VegasWeddingVideography.com Any opinions, suggestions?
You could make a blog about your sites topics and link to it on each post. Make new post about each thing on your site and include link to that page on your site with your topic.
IMO, change the title tag to... 'Las Vegas Wedding Videographer, Los Angeles Wedding Video, Orange County Wedding Videographer' or something along those lines, but make sure you have your keywords you want to rank for in the title tag. Dont go overboard though, limit it to around 60-70 characters. Add a <h1> tag per page, with a keyword you would like to rank for. This shows G the relevance of your site for that particular KW. And carry on building backlinks, preferably from one way RELEVANT websites (with a PR would be nice).
Have a look at your meta title and descriptions on the index.htm. Try to get the keywords in the correct sequence. homepage content - include your keyword phrases within the actual onpage content, in the right sequence. Create Anchor text links using the keyword phrases from related sites. I look after LTD Photography who are UK based Fashion Photographers PM if you would like to exchange links. Good Luck
couldn't agree more! <h1>'s will give you the extra boost. Also try using italic fonts or keywords in bold. invest a few bucks in relevant directories to improve your inbound links. look into index-it.net or avivadirectory.com/strongest-directories/
Few thing you could do: - Increase the number of backlinks. - Recheck your onpage SEO Also it takes quite a bit of time to move up when you get on the first page. May be you should wait.
Thanks for the advice. Its interesting that my competitor has a very similar title tag, fewer pages, and less backlinks yet he still shows up in the top 3 and outranks me. The only thing I can think of is his site age and DMOZ/Yahoo listing. My competitor: Bill-Mitchell.com
It depends on lot of things actually. May be your competitor gets more CTR then you. Also it depends on the age of the site.
Analyze your competitor's site..(how they include the keywords within the site, check their backlinks, the sites that links to them, age of the site, size, etc.)
buy domains with your exact keywords and get them indexed with a few articles and content and point them to your main site. This should give you an extra boost or you could go the freebie way, use wordpress, squidoo, blogspot, etc.. get those indexed for your terms and then the links will help you out
I think probably now that you've been building links, you should be updating your content and adding new content every week with good keyword density(2-4%). Also, submit your site to social bookmarking websites, this helps in a lot of cases. But DON'T stop link building. Cheers...
i see the <h1> tag in the html-code of you home page: but i cannot see the phrase on your home page using any browser... this is not good. increase backlinks amount.
I guess my keyowrd themes need to be more organized. Here is what I was thinking - a site silo. So I would do something like this: My site links on the homepage would read as follows: “About Us†“ NO FOLLOW “Los Angeles Wedding Videosâ€, - new page few paragraphs about Los Angeles with pics and video broken down by county. “Las Vegas Wedding Videosâ€, new page few paragraphs about Las Vegas with pics and videos broken down by county. “Orange County Wedding Videos†new page paragraphs about Las Vegas with and videos broken down by county. Video Packages†NO FOLLOW “Payment Options†NO FOLLOW “Get A Quote†NO FOLLOW Thanks
