How often does Google update page rankings. Is it every ninety days?

 

Google's PR updates all the time.


The PR as detected by most persons via toolbar, etc has a variable update rate. It used to be fairly close to once every 3-4 months. Its been a while now since it was updated - except for the most recent adjustments down for some persons that appear to be getting slapped by google.

 

Approx every 3 to 4 months

Google is behind schedule on a PR update. I have noticed that my Webmaster Account link count is jumping around this month (10/07).

Google - It better be soon...

right now,It has downgraded PR for a lot of top websites..

 

Google update PR withing 3 Months. But upgradation of site depend on relevancy.

It's over due for a google pr update I think..well that is what I heard. I hope they update them soon.

 

Any direct correlation to how often the bot visit your sites?

 

i hear a major update is expected in Nov. however, few people are already experiencing some changes and so far what i've seen is people losing one or 2 points on PR. i myself have not noticed any changes on any of my sites yet. if G does a major PR update in Nov, it will be 3rd time this year.

Thanks for the information. I was wondering why Google hasn't updated its page rankings lately. It seems to be a whole lot to read about..

 

From what I understand, they were testing a change to the algorithm to punish sites that sell text links - a lot of blogging sites (as well as other sites, such as news sites) were affected by this a few days ago. Darren Rowse of ProBlogger.net even started a contest to see who could come up with the best slogan for what he called the "Google PageRank Slam of 2007" - mine was "I got blog-slapped by Google."

Interestingly though, I did help my host promote one of his new sites, which in the span of a couple months went from being unranked to a PR5 - color me impressed.

 

PR usually update after 3-4 months but this recent update was delayed maybe because of the selling and buying links issue. Some webmasters abuse PR. They use PR in selling links.

It updates basically whenever they want to, or when they start getting a lot of grief from the community.

 

It seems that the pagerank is updated on daily basis but the exported results that we see are pretty much every 3 months (well, I dare to call it Q update after the time it took for the last PR score exported).
