    Hi

She is simple to keep. She will weight just 1 pound when full grown which will be in about 2 years. She is tiny. I take her everywhere with me, shopping and specially petsmart. She loves it there. She normally hides in one of my pockets and pops her head out like the picture shown on my site when I'm wearing overhauls.

The hardest part is feeing her which isn't even hard. It takes as long as you see in the video to feed her. Which is just 2-3 minutes. She eats about 6-8 times in a 24 hour period of time right now. She is a ton of fun to have. Considering she is tiny it's very simple to take care of her. Now if she was an ape or something that's a serious responsibilty. She is a big responsibilty to but just on a different level that's all.

Yes that is my monkey . I've opened other topics about her in the past here on DP. I figured the song went perfect with her. Of course that's my baby :) make a post on the youtube video comment section and I can prove it :) She's sitting here with me right now as I'm typing ... I'm thinking that once she gets a little older to start teaching her photoshop , c # something that can make me money while I sleep :) lol she's smart but she would rather play then work right now. All though they can be teached to do alot of cool things.

It cost me about $20.00 a month in baby formula. She hasn't started eating solids yet. But the cost are very low when it comes to feeding. However purchasing a baby monkey runs several thousand dollars.

Thanks for the responses and checking out her video. I've set up a blog and trying to do something with a monkey theme but there's not much out there so I'll have to have it custom done. It's going to be a site dedicated to Layla, watch me grow type site :)

I did. I have 2 grown children and grand children :) Now it's time to have fun. After all... Life is short . Besides that I don't have to worry about Layla's college fund, wanting a new car , she does wear cloths though but in general much cheaper then having kids lol . I love my kids to death and grand children. I owned a monkey many many years ago and knew I always would want another. You would want one to if you held one for a minute. How could you resist ?

How long until you get sick of it, put it in a plastic bag, and club it to death?

You've got to find a mother who's just had a baby. Then you take her baby while she's not looking. It's great fun.

I see we have a member of Peta.org making comments. The same organization that went into seafood restaurants taking the lobsters out of the fish tanks and letting them go free in the sea.

How come when it comes to monkeys and other exotic animals your quick to past judgment but it's double standards in my opinion considering that puppies are taken from their parents and sold in pet shops. I take very good care of her and she won't lack any attention that's for sure!

I agree with Peta on some of their issues. Like lab testing etc.. and other things. But I love Layla and she will have a very good home here with me till she passes. I have a ton of experience when it comes to monkeys. Believe me her cage looks better then most homes! She is given 24 hour attention by loving humans that do care about animals and not breeding like puppy mills.

    I don't have any double standards, I don't 'own' a puppy.

You started the thread. Not everyone thinks pet monkeys are 'cute'. If I took one of your children and cared for it, would that be cute?

    Hi,

I'd be more then glad to give you one of my kids. To late though their grown. If you could afford them. Joking to the side... No offense but if you don't like the thread then don't post. Layla is extremely happy believe me she is..

That's probably your problem. You've never owned an animal? Millions own pets around the world. I consider her more then a pet but a new addition to our family for a lifetime! Peta.org is a good organization but I do question something's like the Lobster incident. I eat Lobsters so now I must be a thug tooooooo ! But for you guys to go into seafood establishments and take them out of the tanks putting them back into the sea is a little over board wouldn't you think?
