What is the best community for forum owners to learn how to manage, monetize and market their community? What are some of the majors - and biggest communities for forum owners? I know of Theadminzone.com and adminfusion which offers a Postfusion (post exchange program) for their members. But what are the other forum-owners communities out there?
vbulletin.org is more for vB owners and SitePoint is for webmasters (not forum owners) I won't give you my favorite, because my opinion just might be a little bit biased
http://www.theadminzone.com/forums/ is always worth a look. And there are a few other smaller ones that have useful information on them with a lot less background noise such as http://www.forum-owners.com/
Check his Homepage @Forgotten & GTAce And I know it is for webmasters, but aren't you a webmaster as well if you own a Forum? I sure am
I thought my avatar would have given it away He asked about your favorite forum for forum owners, not webmasters. There is a difference What if he had asked for the best basketball forums out there...Would it make much sense to start listing sports forums?
TheAdminZone is my favourite right now. I try to focus on less forums now and this is my choice. There are also categories in some webmaster forums and let's not forget the script support forums
http://www.vbulletin-faq.com/forum/ Though its pretty much just for the vB owner (which I am). Follow that with a membership here at Digital Point Forums, and I don't think anything else is needed.
I guess using the official company forums are the best idea to do, however using forums like DigitalPoint where members who have experinced many forum softwares etc are is also a good idea. I have never been on a normal forum that as been fan based that focuses on just forum administarting. So I can not give any information on anything like that, at all.
Must of had a bad night Try it again later, as it does have a pretty good uptime from what I've seen (for instance, I have it open in another tab right now). A few of it's categories Building and Managing Your vBulletin Community Search Engine Optimization Making Money with a vBulletin Forum Customizing your vBulletin vBulletin Styles, Skins and Graphics Even a Programming & a Classifieds section. ^^ heh, hows that for horn tooting? IMHO, it does have a few too many ads for my taste, overall I've found that it's been a fantastic resource for me as a forum owner. I've tried a few of the other places, but seem to always head back to vBfaq *shrug*
