Alive Web Directory PR4??

    Yes, it's pr4 from my site
    bigweblinks and aviva directory are also PR4

    Hmmmm, talk about taking a big hit? I'm glad I added a few of my sites when the directory was first started and it was cheap!!

    I still don't understand why we need so many web directories. When did you last go to a Web directory to search for anything? I even don't go to Yahoo or dmoz for searching. Ok, yahoo finance is great

    you dont search in directories google does and if the directory is strong your PR n/a site can be indexed first page through the directory


    as for alive i cant even think getting up in the morning and see my site goes down

    phpbb also went down

    Why don't we have these discussions after any updates and we actually know what is going on rather than speculating? things fluctuate going into an update.

    I am not surprised, alive directory itself is one of the biggest link buyers around and is clearly using PageRank as a marketing tool.

    It was PR 6 till yesterday... Is this a manual filter? If it were algorithm based, all of us will be hit soon :(

    Big question. How about the sites submitted to those? Will rankings be hurt? Anybody seen any changes in rankings ?
