hi well i have noticed when i refresh m,y pages that there is something called google public ads service "Gulf Hurrican Relief " if someone clicks on it does it earns me well if not how can i stop them from apearing ??? i need help please
You will not earn any money from displaying Public Service Ads (aka PSAs). Make sure that you have content-rich page, as well as well defined META keywords inside your HEAD HTML tag, and you shall prevent PSAs from displaying.
there's also a setting you can choose when you create the code for your adsense. You can choose to display alternate ads instead of PSA's. For instance, you could create an .html file with an azoogle ad code in it and enter the url to that file when you set up your adsense. Whenever there are no ads to display, it will then pull your azoogle ad instead of a PSA
when you get psa ads, it means that there are not enough advertisers in your sector. if the ads that you were getting were on target for the page content, putting keywords in the meta text will not bring more advertisers to your sector. about all you can do is to widen the focus of your keywords, but they must stay relevant to the sector in general.
There are usually plenty plent of advertisers in every sector, unless your site is really really really really really really [...] really specific about something. Its usually that there's not enough content or there's some keywords that google doesn't like. I still can't find out why one of my sites always got PSA on index page and a few other ones, but not on the rest. It was like 50/50. One time it would display ad one time it wouldn't, and thats the same page.
it's been years since i've seen a psa ad on any of my sites... even if there aren't enuf legitimate advertisers in a sector, there will usually be mfa'ers and even ebay ads. zikoflux, the only way to get a specific answer is for you to post the url in question.
in your adsense account > adsense setup > AdSense for Content > Single page > More options there DE-select the default "Show public service ads+ and make your choice accordingly
for example if i want to add CPX ads or widgetbucks it just give me when i choose "Show non-Google ads from another URL " http:// which part of the code should i add ?
if you KNOW exactl WHY you want to remove PSA - then most likely you have your OWN adserver, such as openads installed and hence you give the URL to that server page that you configured on your own adserver to serve alternate ads. my personal opinion is simple: if you have certain entire categories that display PSA - either offer that space as YOUR PUBLIC service, someone HAS to serve the public FOR FREE as MOST of us benefit from some kind of public or social welfare or have family members, relatives or friends who need such services like services AFTER or during disasters, tsunamies, hurricanes, earthquakes, etc ... or would you rather want the red cross or other humanitarian agencies PAY for the PSA and then later on being charged by the gov - adding the 50% or so admin fee for gov handling ??? - second point of view PSA MAY appear in SOME locations, geographical areas if for THAT area NO regular paying ads are available. years ago i had several high traffic pages showing PSA - now all these pages are occupied by high paying ads if YOU see PSA that in NO way means that all world sees PSA since you have NO homepage in your DP forum profile - may be you first should focus more on getting more traffic and to let your site grow in quality, content and traffic - once big enough you never have to waste a single second for such thoughts as you do NOW. i have NO filter in adsense and show all PSA ads and am most happy with my adsense optimization applied to all pages resulting in 2 digits ctr and similar ecpm. I only worry / work on quality and content creation - G does all the rest for me!!! my advertising customers happy me always happy most likely G happy as well if we all contribute some solid share for PSA - then all world happy as well. the happier all world is - the more likely they might use your services or products to make you happy as well.
