I want to know if its legal to put adsense code in a div layer. by using layers, you can put adsense code nearest to the <body> tag and layer allow you to let the ads display at footer even when the code is at top. this can be helpful for CPC

I dont think it is wrong to put the adsense ad in motion div layers. I have seen few sites. But i better tell you to visit google TOS page for more on it.

btw, some people may hate to see the ads go with them while browsing the page.

    Regards,

I see no reason why you couldn't do that.

I use divs and/or the 'table trick' to put content at the top of the html (good for SEO) even though it may display further down. Nothing wrong with putting Adsense into div just don't put it into a frame.
Why would you want the Adsense code at the top of the HTML? It's better if spiders find your content first without wading past ads, indexes, graphics & other 'non-content'.

For your information you can even put it in a frame, an iframe that is

but for divs I agree I think its legal but I would contact adsense support anyway to make sure

I think you can, but what you should not do is let that div float over some navigational links on your site or over any "click me now" thingy by accident...

Having the Ads remain constant on a page when the content scrolls is, repeat after me: ABSOLUTELY AGAINST TOS/POLICIES

You are altering the normal targeting of the ad.

Oh yes.. you can put it in div tag, but, make sure that the div isn't a part of any frame.

And the ad has to scroll on the page like it were part of the normal content or you'll be counter to Policies.

I think the original questions wasn't about the ads floating up and down as you scroll, but using divs to position the ads in a particular palce on the page when its been declared in another part of the markup.

As far as I'm aware, this does not contravene the TOS for adsense. Google doesn't really care how you structure your markup, so long as the content you present on the page matches what the google bot sees when it crawls your site.

Given that the crawler doesn't interpret the CSS (as far as I know), it will read the page top to bottom. Therefore content at the top of the page, even though it may appear in the middle of the page when presented on the screen (via css styling), may be of some benefit.
