I wonder why the digtalpoint.com looks so terrible? I mean for such a giant site as this.. you'd think he would make the main pages look nice ^_^

As for server thing.. he doesnt want to invest any money into the site..He just wants to earn and earn..

Though the price of the server is WAY to high.. 80K for a server.. That is BS i could buy all those parts on ebay for 6K brand new(or comp store for 8K).. I guess you get a nice backlink..

New York Times published a piece on AdSense today, featuring Shawn Hogan of Digital Point discussing his AdSense earnings (roughly $10k per month) and how he shares his revenue with the members of his forum. Also noteworthy is the fact that New York Times quotes a very specific revenue share figure, something that Google has always kept very quiet, stating that publishers such as Digital Point earn roughly 78.5 cents on every dollar. I am sure Shawn must be making that.. or even higher than than.. these days there are many many people (even here on DP) who are making easily $30K+

But we were talking about the DP forum and not of DP. There is a big difference.

DigitalPoint have grown a lot since that article and while Mr. Hogun would not say anything, the DigitalPoint forum members speculate that he is making at least twice that amount now.

BTW, how many of you click on CPC ads on DP (not talking about CPM ads, you can easily figure out which are CPC and which are CPM)? I remember I have not clicked on any of those CPC ads atleast in last 6 months or so. How many of you. If you are seeing those full banner ads (text and image) then those are mostly CPM ads.

About that NY times thing, did it say DP forum or DP itself? These are two different stuff.

May be you are right, but its a webmaster forum and webmasters are WAY TOO AD BLIND.

I will give you an example:
Recently I ran a CPM campaign at DP forum for an advertising network by registering a domain name, so that I can track the stats (routing to my affiliate link thru my new domain to view stats). And you know what stats showed me:
Stats says, I got around 400 clicks from that google adsense AD at DP and around 800 DIRECT CLICKS. I never told anybody about the site or advertised it at any other place. It was a fresh domain.

What does this shows? People here at DP would prefer to TYPE the domain by seeing it in the ad instead of clicking on the ad. Many times even I do it.

Anyways, what the actual earning is that only Shawn can tell.
