how much does DP Forum earn from adsense ?

bec. its the highest ranked forum and nearly the only one which uses adsense!!!!

So i don`t know if someone can tell you the exact amount of the earnings from AdSense on DP Forum, because it`s slip by the members - the once that deserve it -.

DP earns very definitely NOT enough else there would be no request for donations to finance the server HW.
if more people would remove their own adsense code, that would be similar to contributing a TINY share to the huge server expenses and might even help to finance all without additional donations.
i have instantly removed my own adsense code from DP forum when i read last year about the need for funds - i was shocked that the adsense revenue is that low!

looking at members numbers and alexa rank - and comparing with my own data - DP should have far more than that - at least by 1 zero or most likely even much more!

 

but really how many people actually click adsense ads that are members of this forum? Im sure very little of us do....I dont think adsense pays that much for pageviews...

 

No. I am giving those numbers because I have run some CPM campaigns on DP forum, so I know what rates and around how many visitors it gets.

but again, $3000 is just my calculated guess.

Also please understand that DP members hardly click on the banners. If the banner is very attractive a deal, believe me that it is a CPM banner. And, CPM for DP forum is not very high.

The request for hardware is simple, why pay $100k on servers when you can get others to pay it for you? Taking out a loan and then paying it back would be a lot more costly too. Its also not really a donation considering people got backlinks on a massivly high PR'd page (depending on the donation amount).

$3000? Wow, so the new york times reported DP forums making $10k a month: http://www.nytimes.com/2006/01/16/technology/16ecom.html all the way back in janurary 2006 is totaly wrong?

This site is an alexa 200+ site. It easily has a premium account with google (just because the ads look normal doesnt mean its not premium, it would be an advantage for him to keep them looking "normal") so he gets to negociate what percentage google pays him.

So i would not be surprised if DP is making a lot more than $10,000 a month today.

I think Pierce is close. $3000 / month is way too low for a site like DP. I am making almost 2k/month now with a site that has an alexa rank in the 70,000 area. I think even 10k is a bit low but i guess we'll never know

I think you are far away for the amount they are making...I think for sure its over the 10k...just guessing

 

May be you are right. But I told you what I figured out with my little experience.

BTW, how many of you click on CPC ads on DP (not talking about CPM ads, you can easily figure out which are CPC and which are CPM)? I remember I have not clicked on any of those CPC ads atleast in last 6 months or so. How many of you. If you are seeing those full banner ads (text and image) then those are mostly CPM ads.

About that NY times thing, did it say DP forum or DP itself? These are two different stuff.

May be you are right, but its a webmaster forum and webmasters are WAY TOO AD BLIND.

I will give you an example:
Recently I ran a CPM campaign at DP forum for an advertising network by registering a domain name, so that I can track the stats (routing to my affiliate link thru my new domain to view stats). And you know what stats showed me:
Stats says, I got around 400 clicks from that google adsense AD at DP and around 800 DIRECT CLICKS. I never told anybody about the site or advertised it at any other place. It was a fresh domain.

What does this shows? People here at DP would prefer to TYPE the domain by seeing it in the ad instead of clicking on the ad. Many times even I do it.

Anyways, what the actual earning is that only Shawn can tell.
