    Hi!
    Wanted to ask....
What do you think is the most effective way to promote the site, its services? I mean, to get more participants to make a brend more recognizeable.

    I have various ideas:

    1.To buy ads by Google
2.To send mail to the sites, asking them to use my services
    3. To buy ads on IT forums

What do you think is the most convenient way to solve the problem?
Give me a piece of advice. Are there any other ways for promotion?

    Thanks in advance.

Any marketing pro out there worth his salt will tell you that the most effective is a combination of eight things:

    1. Advertising on as many quality but inexpensive sites as you can, and offline. That's the REAL "secret." If you can call it that.
    2. Word of mouth. "Tell a Friend." Put the form right in front of them. Don't have them click on a link to get to it!
    3. You have to believe.
    4. Having monthly and yearly goals. Short-term and long-term goals.
    5. Having a good site; info. people want to go back to.
    6. Having a schedule Ex.: Devoting three hours, 4-7 PM Monday-Saturday. And sticking with it as if it is a job you cannot afford to be fired from!
    7. Read up on as much marketing info (books, magazine articles, message boards, Websites....) as you can. Don't just read them, and skim reading them, STUDY them, take notes as if you are back in school. Because you know what? ... You are!
    8. Keep working. Keep working. Keep working. Keep studying. Keep studying. Keep studying.
If you are starting to get burned out, IMMEDIATELY take some time off. Once you're better, get your ass back to work.

Stick with these eight things, and in a few years, if not longer, you'll be up there with such sites as CraigsList, Askmen, Bullz-Eye, and, yes, DigitalPoint.

    You just have to believe.

Perry Rose makes a good point in a previous post in regards to "offline" advertising - don't forget about it.

If you can, find out what your potential clients read (newspapers, magazines, periodicals, etc.) and utilize solid ad methods there - it's typically a much lower cost than paid search with a higher ROI as well.

    start from free.

    forums...

    then go up to paid.

if you cannot get people to buy from free TARGETED traffic, you will not get any action from paid either.

better test small, then scale when you have a working formula.

Amen. And dont just use google adwords for targeted paid ads. Look at ask jeeves, yahoo mareketing, etc.
