Google PageRank and Ranking Penalties Being Dished Out Like Crazy

From 6 to 3 isn`t a penalty?
It`s a blog and has content updated daily. Also, has good content...many of this blogs had good PR.

What say you?

 

A few of my directories that I pay for links on other directories have been knocked down 2 or 3 PR levels, some online from 2000. Other directories of mine that I dont buy links for have not dropped... Wow, I am glad that I dont rely on directories for my income.. just crazy. When every I am getting listings in my directories, everyone just seems to care about PR. Bloody stupid, I guess I wont get much listings now with PR3-4 directories lol - will have to build them up myself......

 

On another point, my blogs and other content sites have all kept there PR

 

It seems everything is changing to PR4

Penalty ? Why penalty ?

It shows you have amount of links to get you PR3 .... nothing less and nothing more .... why do we have to talk about penalties when PR is the case ???

PR formula is known and there is nothing on PR that you can connect to some sort of penalty....

 

For the most part I'm loving this. It makes legit sites that don't cheat much more valuable

 

My site (sfportal.hu) which is a Hungarian sci-fi site was PR5 a month ago. Then suddenly dropped to PR4, today it dropped again PR3.

No paid links, no paid links directory, no black hat techniques...

Really? When did Google explain their PR formula?

So, you're saying Google doesn't have the ability to "penalize" websites through PR?

 

Maybe Google is just making it harder to achieve higher pageranks. If that's the case, most everyones pr will go down.

 

I just got a penalty at www.smashingdir.com from pr3 to pr2... GRRRR!

yes, they will. So we could sell additional several millions of links If Google wanted link prices to rise, the best way would be to make PR of almost every site higher.

 

Cant wait for google to turn on the websites that generate automated link exchange emails ... to build thier huge and often unrelated link directories.

I agree with that statement. In the last couple of udpates it has seemed much easier to obtain a high PR and that cheapens googles image. I think they are just testing things the other way.

 

I have to agree with you there.

Its funny watching people get in a spin over PR and waste so much valuable time.

I have a feeling that Google have mapped out a network of website/directory that is in that "making money online" category and decrease the authority of those site
