There are several people offering manual directory submissions. At the end, there are so many directories that is is impossible to keep track on which directories your site has been submitted before & each submitter has their own list. Also, I am sure many directory submitters use the same lists of free directories for this task. Following this, if someone uses the services of more than one person, the probabilities are quite high that your site will end up being submitted more than once to the same directories. What happens then? How do directories react to this? I would appreciate some of the dierctory owners to let me know what do they do when one person re-submits one site again to their directory. Is this really an issue?
Yes. It is an issue. That is why I never give out the unique directory list for our submission services. The last thing you want is someone else getting the list of directories so they can add them to their list.
The better manual directory services will check to see if your site is listed before submitting. But otherwise, yes I guess some directory owners will get a bit fed up with repeated submissions and might ban you.
Yes that is correct, If the link has been submitted, then phpLD does not allows the link to be submitted again which is a very nice feature of the phpld script. I don't know about the other scripts.
Most directories have a search, so there's really no excuse for resubmitting a website that has already been listed. A lot of scripts also check whether a website has already been submitted. What really is annoying is when a site is listed, but then it gets resubmitted under a different domain name. It doesn't go down well when submission companies try to sneak things like that past, thinking it won't be noticed.
The person I use for directory submissions provides me with a list of directories that he submitted to, then when I get an approval e-mail I edit that list and add a check mark or an approved/rejected. Use google docs, it can be your best friend
