I would like some steer by you lot as I am hoping I can gain by the boards extensive knowledge. I am looking to buy IBP 9, so I can effectively optimize my internal products pages efficiently to start targeting product on SEO. I am aware that I can probably find all of the information this package offers in free tools elsewhere on the net but I am looking to start from the beginning of SEO. I know the basics of content and keywords and how to find my targeted keywords, I just have an issue trying to tie it all up into a workable solution. What I am hoping this package will give me is the tools to get my site ranks boosted by guiding me in what I have to do to get there, while also picking up the fundamental basics to enable me to be a little more self sufficient in the future. With all the above taken into consideration will IBP 9 help me and is it worth the price (remember it's based on an newb working and not your good selves) Thanks all.
Toe Yes I have tried the demo for an internal page and it gives us some useful info on keyword density and tags, what it does not include is the details on what to do to improve the rankings.
I ask because some time ago I tried the demo too. Liked it and then even purchased IBP. But it happened to be not that great. So I got my money back and continued looking for SEO software. The one I stopped with is WebCEO. I think, you need to test different tools to make your choice so that later you will not need to ask for a refund and look for another tool.
Thanks a lot Toe! I will download their trial version and give that a test run and compare the results.
I have looked at the trial version of WebCEO and it looks pretty good to me. Does anybody know of any reputable people of companies that I can purchase a report from each of these with the same search conditions. I can then compare the information and decide from there.
Do you mean reports created by these software? I have Professional edition of Web CEO, so I can help you with it. As I said before, I have no IBP now.
PM Sent Toe. Yes this is would be the best information for me as I could compare the results from each package and see what one returns the most useful / understandable information for me. I definitely need something like these packages, but at $300 a pop I want to make sure I am getting the right one for my needs.
I use IBP all the time now. I don't agree with everything they "recommend" but the Top 10 Optimizer function will give you a very good idea of what the competition is doing. This will give you someidea of what to do. It also has a build in HTML validation, Spider simulator, Keyword density, etc. I think it is better today than WebCEO.
Thanks Toe. It looks like I might have to buy the trial version of IBP to see the results of that one. When I have made my assesment I will update this post.
Hi, I use IBP 9.7.1. Standard but my updates expired I cant find the answer on their site so i am asking here, if i upgrade to the IBP Business edition, will i get 12 months updates or will i still have to pay extra for this? http://www.ibusinesspromoter.com/order/pricing-e.htm Thanks for any help Cass
I think I am close to getting all the tools I need (mostly free) for the same kind of results. These reports IMO do not tell you a lot more than you can find for for your self, just have to look under the right rock and what you are looking at. Both IBP and Web CEO generate the same kind of information (IBP a little better IMO) and is great if you are running your own site and have access to you full HTML etc. I did not, my site is managed for me and I do not have this access, so some of the suggestions were not effective for me to implement. The rest is on keyword density, location, Metta tags, and back links. All of these are easy to find yourself using many online free tools.
And what other informations would you expect from a seo software, just curious to know..? The report is effective when you get alerted on parts that your site lacks and has space to optimize, so if it says keyword density can be from 1% to 4% but best to reach is 3% than thats it, increase the keyword density up to or close to 3% (just example). I don't know about IBP but WebCEO is great for on page optimization, it gives you the necessary info that you need to do to improve your on page seo, the rest building backlinks etc...it is up to you how you do it.
I use IBP since a while now. I think I got it free on Ares... It gives me a more than decent report on what's going on...very complete. Recommended but need time to master it IMO...
I've used a number of such products, including an older version of IBP, but have stopped using them now after I started blogging and stopped creating Web 1.0 sites. IBP is a good tool, but I believe you're paying a little bit extra for it. A standard version would be sufficient for Personal Web designers. If you don't mind the costs, go ahead and buy it.
It depends on your needs. If you need a tool just to get some suggestions and some info not on a regular basis, then yes, you do not need to buy SEO software. But if SEO is the thing you do continually, not from time to time, or especially if you have clients, colleagues or boss who need reports, SEO software is highly necessary. I can not imagine how I would manually take care of all the keywords I have and how much time I would have to spend creating and sending reports without WebCEO. Of course I do not mean that software can work and think instead of you, but you can deliver monotonous work to it.
