I got a PR5 with no links, and it gets no traffic. The strangest part is it got the PR5 in August... Google messed up.

2 ppl in this thread said the age of the domain gives PR!?

did I miss something? I thought only backlinks passed PR.

I know age is a factor of trust in google's eyes, but I didn't think it gave PR..

This domain may parked at any good Parking service like Sedo, So only parking at Sedo without any additional SEO work can also get ranked.

First of all, some backlinks are never found in any of the tools on the web.
Secondly, the PR logic is very complex and in my opinion just one or two good website links can do the magic while 100s of links from bad websites do nothing.
Thirdly, there is no need for SEO to get PR. The SEO helps with keyword ranking and that as you said is terrible for them.
Fourth, you say that they have over 200 backlinks in Yahoo. Well, Google may be recording some of these too; it is just not showing them.
Finally, you can digg/stumble anything in my signature.
    Thanks.

original content and age gives a site some backlinks without any link building campaign from the owner, that was the point.

and for the original poster, you should check the webmaster tools to see exactly what links point to that domain and i think you are able to see the actual redicted,if it's the case

Backlinks, or off page optimization is only one aspect of SEO, on page optimization does make quite a difference for less competitive keywords.

For onpage optimization, stuff like keywords in URL; ALT tags; image names; content; H1-H6 tags; bold, strong, italic, etc tags, and in anchore text of internal and extranal links are important.

Some people mistakenly use PR to refer to SERPs. Age of domain affects SERPs not PR

something is definitely odd about the domain.

first off there is no page cache for the domain in google

    check:

    http://209.85.135.104/search?source...BGB237GB237&q=cache:http://www.dermacare.com/

there's no cache for iether www. or non www. version of the url

    i have also checked

    http://www.digpagerank.com/index.php?url=www.dermacare.com

i thought it would show up red, i.e fake pr but its only orange, unconfirmed. i would guess from expreince the domain has dropped at somepoint and not been reindexed properly by google.

but on the other hand google has been playing up recently and dropping pages randomly for no reason, you do have some pages cached by google but not the hompage

    http://209.85.135.104/search?q=site:www.dermacare.com&hl=en&rlz=1T4GGIH_en-GBGB237GB237&filter=0

Another check i did was to see where the backlinks were coming from and thier PR

    http://smartpagerank.com/pagerank-backlinks.php?domain=www.dermacare.com&results=100

The strange thing here again is the tool is listing your own domain as backlink, it does not normally do that.

Good luck with your SEO venture, do i win a prize?
