POS=Piece of shit article. And sure, I will. You'll be on the look out, so this will be fun. 2 Things first. So I can figure out if it's possible/worth my time. 1)How fast do you review your directory links? 2)How many submissions/day (if I'm the only submission for a day, and you know I'm going to do this,it becomes trickier) If you review fast(as in not waiting around for days, I can deal with a in-depth review), and get at least a few submissions, sometime in the next 2 weeks, I'll get in.
What i mean is like the main category of "Automotive" which is very rarely found on most directories well by adding it as a "main" category and all its sub cats then i dont see any difference cause they both have the same categories only one is called a niche and the other a general directory but in the end the same catagories are provided. I hope that makes sense..
Thanks for the clarification. As some mentioned here... not everybody is fluent in English (but I learn quick ) Now, for the challenge... 1) I review the submissions every day... 2) I don't have a lot of submissions every day as I have a very strict niche directory that is part of a website. So, it's not a "standalone" directory and it's first purpose is not making money. So to make it honest and fair for both of us... I propose you try to submit somewhere before the end of year. More then 2 months left and I can assure you I will (and can ) not be looking in another way to the submissions made Sounds good ?
Alright. Just a heads up. You will want do declare victory prematurely. You'll understand what that means later. Also, I hope you don't mind. You might be my case study for a blog entry on the topic.
Ok, I understand your point. (at least, I think so )But in my eyes a general and a niche can have the same "main category" (automotive) but the niche will go much further in the total number and diversification (is this the right word ) of subcategories. When I look at a general with a categorie Books (or literature) and I then compare to my niche directory... I don't see many "shared" categories... But of course, it can depend of the niche
Im new to the article thingy BUT i can tell you ive got a few derelicts that submit sites or try taking advantage of the situation when available. While many claim that ohhhhh its horrer to pay more then a few bucks for a link they fail to realize that they are offered 2-3 links just for writing a good origanal and unique article thats pertaining the "category" its being submitted too. thx malcolm
Nope. I never said I'm sure to win... but I like the challenge No problem. As long as you don't describe me as a prof. webmaster. I'm just an amateur with a passion for books. Websites (and directories) are still new for me but usefull tools to share my intrest
A niche directory will always do better because the home page is optimized and has more related keywords on page and in meta for that specific niche. Plus if you tried to make a general directory that caters to every niche you would end up with 100 main categories. Just look at my niche health directory based portal and see how many related 'health' keywords are on that page. Plus all the links, even using the domain name Portal 4 Health, have an important keyword in it, so just a top category would not be able to compete. Plus add to that the fact that someone searching info on a 'health' niche will have much more choices on a niche site then a general directory.
Well thats a given A niche word or term in the "domain" combined with "title" and "meta descrip" will always be superior compared to one that dont, But that doesnt mean the general cant rank well for the term in any engine providing theirs "content" "articles" and "News" or whatever to back it in that subcategory. But in the end ... the niche is preferred Ive got a few in the works... and the few i have ready are doing well cheers malcolm
I guess it can still rank and many directories do indeed do just that. But I think breaking and remaining in the top 30 would be difficult. Any lower than that and the search engine traffic would be very minimal anyways. I guess with active inner page link building you might rank higher if you have relevant articles to augment your links.
In the end ... Its the webmaster whom has the most "relevant information" to provide to both the SEs and visitors and whom did proper SEO on their site. thx malcolm
I don't think they are. Probably won't either. Think about a scenario. U launch a professional site. Now what do u do? Join up 1000s of forums and try to promote ur site with your sigs? What if there's no forum out there based on the topic of ur site, or what if the forum doesn't allow sigs. Ok, so tell me. U've got this brand new site which is sitting all alone in the Sahara. U want some movement there. Contextual ads? Ok, but $0.50 - $0.60 per click add up kind of fast. Text Link Advertising? Could work, and be pricey, but also is against some of the search engine guidelines.
Hello... Well thats about to change for adwords... It seems now you will be able to BID on any website or its keywords Webpronews ** Co-founder Sergey Brin talked about a new initiative rolling out this quarter. It will allow ad clients to bid on how much a Web user is worth to them, and then Google will figure the math of how much that client should spend to buy a keyword. Brin said the company was seeing higher click-through rates than expected for ads it has been placing at the bottom of YouTube videos.** Well its better then the click monsters costing the advertiser more money in bad clicks... thx malcolm
