As for how I see it : I see it that two enemies were fighting and US smuggled weapons and supported one side. I see it that two enemies are fighting and allegedly ( no proof to date ) Iran is smuggling weapons and supporting one side. Get over it man. If the US did not and does not want to take over Iraq and Afghanastan... then why is the best protected parts of those countries that parts that contain the oil pipeline carrying oil to ships for the US to use? In my opinion, Bush does not give a damn about the well being of the people of Iraq, Afghanastan, or even the US for that matter. All that man really cares about is lining the pockets of himself, his family, and his buddies, all while hurdeling towards a US controlled, one world government.

There was a big thread on here about that...the MAJORITY of the Oil from Iraq does NOT go to the US, we get our our from the Black Sea, the Gulf of Mexico, Alaska, and South America. Go do a search of the forum, that thread is out there...and I have never heard anything mentioned about oil from Afghanistan....are you sure on that one?

Actually its not true. If you read the history of Soviet-Afghan conflict, you would find it entirely false. The Conflict was actually between Reformist People's Democratic Party of Afghanistan (PDPA), who wanted to Reform the Afghanistan and get rid on the extreme Islamic practice,was backed by Soviet Union because of PDPA's Marxist practice and largely Islamic fundamentalist Mujahideen insurgents. The PDPA was responsible for establishing Democratic Republic of Afghanistan. The PDPA was frown upon by US (because of it's closeness to Soviet and Marxist practice) and its allies Pakistan and Saudi Arabia (because of Islamic Issues). PDPA made few mistakes while trying to reform the Country and on some points reacted very violently to the reform opposing groups and Prisoned and executed thousands of Village Mullah and other Islamic headmen. This caused an uprising of Islamic fundamentalists backed by Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Later (Unfortunately) by US. The US was bitter because of Vietnam war and played the same role in Afghanistan conflict that USSR played in Vietnam war. Although US didn't support and provided weapons directly to the Al Qaeda (As believed by many) and Osama bin Laden (In reality Osama bin Laden hated US as much as he hated USSR and Saddam Hessian). But Us played a significant role in ensuring the victory of fundamentalist Islamists unknowingly that it would back fire to them in future.
