Ever diminishing returns on Adsense

Is it just me or is everyone noticing ever diminishing returns with Adsense? It's ridiculous. Traffic up, clicks up, revenue down, month after month after month. Seems to me Google is squeezing the publishers to benefit the shareholders just a little too much. It also seems to me that should another company figure out a way of unlocking that publisher goldmine, Google are going to take a hard, hard knock to their earnings.

Overall, yes. It seems the more traffic I get and the more clicks there are, the less it earns comparatively speaking. It's like running to stand still sometimes.

I have exactly the same experience over the past year or so mcfox. As your traffic and number of clicks increases the payout per click adjusts downwards, and when I lose traffic and clicks, it adjusts upwards (but not as much). Overall it's just slowly going downhill.

What I find the most interesting is that I use adwords too, and the cost for getting ad placement in the same niches just goes up, up and up.

Yea sometimes it really sucks. My overall cpc is in slow decline from the beginning. It is like mirroring more traffic > less cpc....

I just don't understand why Yahoo won't launch his ppc internationally...
For sure that they are strong competitors, even if it's just by the company name.
With time and effort they could probably develop their publisher network to the level of google adsense.

After a hot start where everything was going up by the month, I've hit a low point this month. It's still a decent amount of money, but it just sucks to see such a decline.

Welcome to the new AdSense. Google isn't making billions of dollars in profit from being generous, open, or transparent. They know they have more than enough publishers, so pay them all a pennies per click (and throw in a couple good days a month to give them hope) and most will just accept the new low pay out. Sucks, don't it?

This is why most of my income is from CPM, my one humor website earns usually $1000.00+ a month, and it still feeds my adsense account with filler ads. I usually make $500.00+ a month on adsense with all my sites.

Not only is adsense falling but the dollar was converting at 1.4 US = 1.0 UK. Now it's 2.0 US = 1.0 UK. Talk about falling earnings!

YPN is probably left dead and undeveloped. Everyone knows that when a company goes for BETA that long, something is wrong?

Yahoo will never be the answer. Their years in beta for publishing ads is just one symptom of how bad a shape they are in. If you own pc with Vista you know how bad it is at Yahoo...

I had a site with hosted by them and when I got my new pc with Vista I found out my publishing tool no longer worked. They told me 8 months ago it would be resolved in a month. It was never resolved so I switch hosts. I could keep going with more examples but I am getting off topic. Yahoo is headed to the same graveyard as AOL.
