    Hi,

    It seems I have outgrown shared hosting. Can someone recommend me VPS (Virtual Private Server hosting) and the average price?

    Since I do not want to go directly to Dedicated hosting without trying this.

    Thanks a lot.

    i've been using vpslink without any issues for a while now, or you could try the godaddy vps which looks to be fairly cheap. Just be aware that VPS is shared with others, and bad neighbours can ruin your cpu and memory usage.

    Hello
    DO you have a budget in mind?
    Could you elaborate a bit on your requirements regarding RAM, Space and bandwidth as well as any other specific requirements.
    Depending on your requirements we could offer a standard or custom plan.

    Thanks

    Hi,

    I am looking for the cheapest managed VPS plan. However if I have to choose I would prefer Linux OS.

    M main concern is moving database + other files between hosts.

    If you really need a dedicated server then just go for it - managing a VPS is just like the management of a dedicated server.

    However, you can just get a fully managed dedicated server and save yourself the headache ;)

    The thread Op said

    This means that he thinks managing VPS is easier than managing a dedicated while it's the same issues in managament.

    and it's also the same if it's managed or not managed - same situation.

    but if he doesn't need the full dedicated server power. then VPS is the best solution.

    go to webhostingtalk , there are many vps providers there giving out deals and discounts. Also you could ask around for the best hosts for your requirements.

    hosting query = webhostingtalk

    the best in my opinion is http://www.modvps.com/
    VPS-One package:

    * 20 GB Raid Disk Space
    * 300 GB Monthly Data Transfer
    * 512 MB Guaranteed Ram
    * 1 GB Burstable Ram
    * Virtuozzo Power Panel
    * cPanel/WHM w/ Fantastico & RVskin
    * Free WHMAP or CE Billing Software
    * 4 IP Addresses Included
    $44.50
    they are a hostingzoom division, so the support they give is first class.
    most of this VPS sellers charge extra for cpanel and WHM; modvps they will even give you Virtuozzo, plus 4 IP, there is nowhere any place which will give you all this at this price.
    And you can be sure that modvps will be around next year and the year after that.
    Good luck.

    if you are having a bigger web site, i suggest you to try decided server, not vps.

    in my opinion, there is no big difference between vps and shared hosting.

    using decided is a better option than using a vps
