I was watching one of Frank Kern video today
and I really enjoyed it: I didn't know that you
    can make big money by...

...giving away free stuff using "Mass Control."

    Here is the video:

    http://www.frankkern.com/freemoneyvideo/

No - I'm not an affiliate or know him, I watched
it from a link on WF and though it was very
helpful. I figured you might too.

He described using email but I think it will also
be effective using Craigslist and web 2.0

    Enjoy :D

Glad it helped! I only manage to learn that you can make money giving away free stuff and didn't know about that site either.

That will make it a LOT easier to make money online. The guy said he make over 1k a day doing it, so I bet I can make something :D

I do it all the time. The only thing to remember is that even if it's free it has to have real value. I know I have a hard time giving away some and waste on advertising but then some valuables that are recognized as such are picked up faster and generate sales.

Traffic Exchanges work as well but I found out that using a capture page works best.

I also do it with PPC but bid only one or two cents the most on content.

I tried giving away a free ipod nano on my old blog. I said that I'd pick someone from the comments to win it. Nobody commented because I had no traffic at the time.

The prize has to be really good before someone will go out of their way.

How much traffic should you be getting before you should start a campaign like this. Right now I don't have much traffic either.

At least 100 uniques a day should be okay for a start.

"The prize has to be really good before someone will go out of their way."

That, and many times they will keep on walking. No thanks, no nothing.

And if you are spending more on the give aways than you are bringing in, well, I don't know....

I saw the video. It's a good idea, if it was before spam ruined it all.

His impressive-sounding "Mass Control" is nothing but sending out e-mail to thousands of people. Spam.

His suggestion to put lower case letters in the subject headline of the e-mail doesn't work. Neither does "note from a friend." We look at WHO sent it. If we don't recognize it, we don't open it.

Well, practically all of us, that is.

In addition to spam, viruses, such as the "I Love You" virus put a stop to that real fast!

I looked at his homepage. It read "$23.8 million in just under 24 hours."

That's a big ol' red flag for folks with even a half brain.

Did he say that almost 30% took his offers? If so, he is lying. Less than 5% even open the e-mail. Unless, of course, they have opted to accept such e-mail. But even then we are talking a VERY small group here.

I tried getting into this hydramedia site, to check if one has to pay to sign up, but it was running too slow.

If you do have to pay to sign up....

With all this said and done, if it was five years ago, this would have been a great idea.

One tip that might work, though: Create sites with familiar sounding store names, like HotSportsAuthorityOffers.com, and use that to send e-mail. Then put in the subject headline something more realistic: "Get Free Sports Equipment From Sports Authority."

But I wasn't impressed with this guy. It's just another spin on spam.

Agree, in this decade, I think this strategy would more likely piss people off.

This video has given be some great new ideas for my filehosters blog.

I have been writing new articles all morning and I have signed up as affiliate on the hydra network.

With currently receiving only 75 uniques a day, I have managed to get 2 people to signup for free 'give away' stuff. So far it has made me $3.

Quite a good start, hopefully more traffic will come and I will generate more income.. will keep you updated on this one.

I think this can be very powerful with an opt-in List. So, it is a 2 steps strategy: 1st let's build a huge opt-in list; 2nd, let's mass control them ;)

Having a blog or website with large traffic seems to be very effective too :)

You mean let's mass spam them. :)~ hee

Of course it's a great idea to put the offers up on your site, duh, but to send them to your already signed up members? I don't know, for me, I would send an e-mail requesting to be taken off the list. I don't sign up just to be sent sales e-mails. (Maybe you can put them at the bottom of the e-mails?)

And many will simply stop openeing your e-mail. All that time of sending them e-mails, and they aren't even being opened.

Just a fair warning, is all.

I don't think this is spamming at all...It is his list and he isn't just using it to send a bunch of ads. Frank Kern is a clever guy from what I heard.
