Different C CLASS IPs for every DIFFERENT domain?

Discussion in 'Search Engine Optimization' started by gmantakis, Oct 22, 2007.

    Hi to all,

I am in the process of developing a couple of domains which have the same topic (e.g Cars) but i want them to be hosted each on its own domain (e.g carbrand1.com , carbrand2.com , carbrand3.com). Would it be wise to host each domain on a DIFFERENT C CLASS IP ?

Would it make any difference for search engines? Is there any value to host them on different C CLASS IPs? I have to mention that i want to have at the bottom of every domain links to the other domains if someone is interested to visit the other domains also (if someone is interested in a another car brand). Will my links be more worth if they are coming from different C CLASS IPs?

    Thanks for any help

    George

Its a big help if you use different class C IPs for each domain. This way when you link between domains it is more likely to be seen as a vote and will improve optimisation .... mind you be carefully not to fully mesh link your sites .... google may see that as un-natural linking.

If this is run on the same server\network most respectable search engines will be able to tell, this seems like an attempt to link spam a certian keyword\topic, which I am against.

The whole IP address thing is a script kiddie myth. So long as you have unique content, all is right with the world.

The IP's will not matter, they are all coming from the same DNS server and the engines will pick up on that. It is a classic case of link farming detection, only problem is you might have 254 IP's, all assigned to there own domain name. But the problem lies on the DNS server being the same and all of those sites are inter linked. I would avoid trying this tactic.

This is what I assumed, somewhere down the road a search engine would beable to detect all these sites are interlinked.

get different class c ip's and everything will be okay....don't worry much about the dns and stuff.

But remember don't just go for blind interlinking, link only those sites that are actually themed or content related.Think about the value that you give to your visitors.

But having different CLASS C IPs doesnt change the fact that all domains are coming from the same DNS Servers. Maybe its a good idea not only to have different C CLASS IPs but also different DNS Servers with also different C CLASS IPs for each domain?

Whats your opinion on that? Is it just fine to have different C CLASS IPs for every domain BUT they use the same DNS Servers? Or do the DNS Servers doesnt play a big role here?

    Thanks

To me I always apply the rule "does it look natural". Its not natural to have a large percentage of your links within the same IP range and to some degree the same for a DNS server.

In the real world natural links will have a profile, for example content is related in some way (but doesnt always have to be) and its likely the the links will be spread across many different IPs and DNS.

The role the DNS server plays is tipping Google off that someone is trying to fool them.

Sure you could get different DNS servers for every node in your web farm. If you do it through all the same host, the engines can still tell that the pipe is being leased by the same company. And Google is an ICANN registrar - they don't actually sell domain registrations, but they have the special x-ray glasses that come with being a registrar, so even if you select anonymous hosting chances are they know all of your sites are owned by, or at least paid for by the same person.

Not to mention what it's going to cost to get a different IP address and a different DNS server for every web site you have, assuming your host will accept "I want better Google" as a justification for all those IPs.

Seriously, what looks more suspicious: someone who has a few web sites, or someone digitally hiding behind a bush?

I have heard about that DNS issue, so once again I am asking is seohosting.com vaste of money.

I mean they put the sites on different ips and cclasses, but how can I check if the DNS are the same

Is DNS coming from a domain or from server.

Because I host the doamins on godaddy on one account.

I mean google probably takes that into consideration

But we have sites with the same theme and jsut link them to the main ones. So it is not really spamminf, we just direct people where to buy products and our ghost sites get the traffic.

I think thre is nothing wrong with that

Just host all your three sites on different servers and inter link them. No issues then...

If there's nothing wrong with it (and I agree, by the way) then there's no reason to go trying to hide it.

And yes, any search engine worth remembering its name can tell that a bunch of web sites all live on the same server.

This is why fake domain registration is a must.

I do not say it is totally ok,but if you think. Why google should know the site is owned by you.I do not think they should know. Especially if i pay for whois guard. If i am owner of site or not, i do not want google to know this.

This is why i am using domain name registration to relatives. It is good to have many relatives.
