We call it the lebanese bong here in Australia. At least that's what I know it as. You use it to smoke flavored tobacco. It's good for something different.
Lebanese bong? I've never heard of that around here. Almost everyone calls it the "Arghile"... I suppose it's a Western Sydney thing. I've never tried it though. While I'm sure it's fine if used in moderation, I'm generally against all things tobacco so I've sworn to stay away from it.

From what I've heard from my grandpa, he smokes a hookah back home; that apple is the best. He's been smoking hookah's for ages. I love the smell though! Pretty great
