What a nice thread. Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences. I guess, this story is another proof that only a hard work can lead to making money online.

    Day 41-51 - October 10th-21st, 2007

Well it's been a while since I've posted an update. I haven't had much time to write many articles -- my Dad has left for the Philippines for a 2 week long series of seminars and conferences which means that I am in charge of his email and support. I sort of underestimated the work that was required (50+ emails a day!) so progress on this has slowed a whole lot. Rest assured I am searching for article writing time in between school, assignments and work!

Oh and no, still no sales other than the one I received way way back. My head is still up high though.

Thanks for everyone's contributions to this thread. I, as everyone else, am learning a lot. :)

600 URL clicks - you must have converted some of that traffic into sales... If not, then stop writing articles and take care of the landing page IMHO.

Ponynnuget. How many products do you promote using article marketing?

yeah 624 clicks, that means landing page needs help dude, so be sure to work on that!

Try using an opt-in list, that's what the best use, otherwise, you need a massive amount of traffic to make sales without an opt-in

Wow! I have been floundering for the past three months with marketing my sites and throwing a bunch of money away! Great insight on approaching a 'profitable methodology' of marketing. I have to rank this as one of the best threads I have ever read on DP!

Kudos to poneynugget and Samo! Great educational thread and advice! I have given up on adsense, for ~45 sites I make $12-$15/month. Have been restructuring a lot of sites to CJ products. I was really trying to figure out the best way to market the sites when I ran across this thread. I have thrown money away on Yahoo and Google PPC.

Still in a learning mode! Please keep up this great thread! Hope all works out for you poneynugget!

    BR,
    Dave

If I had more money than time, what is the best way to go about getting traffic to the sites as well as selling the products? Ghostwriters?

Most of my sites will be selling CJ products while I do have a couple that sell their own tangible products. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

    BR,
    Dave

IMHO, if you have money, then front page links on related high traffic sites is the way to go - I experimented once and got 1000+ visitors in the period of 10 minutes for around 20 dollars :D - Did not have any conversions though as I just wanted to see what will happen to traffic and did not care about the sales page.

Are the articles linking directly to your clickbank affiliate link or your website?

They link to his site where he gives a review on the product. (as mentioned earlier in this thread)

In all fairness Sutocu I didn't exactly follow the eBook's author's advice to pump out 30 articles a day. I honestly expected another sale by now though... I suppose it's all about experimenting and tweaking to find that "golden nugget". ;)

Of the 626 clicks how many have clicked on your hoplink though?

    dcristo,

It's hard to say since Clickbank's hop stats will only go back as far as 30 days, but for the last month I've had 565 hops. Remember that not all of them are from EzineArticles -- a decent percentage of traffic comes from sites that have published my articles.

565 hops and only one sale... What are you promoting? I hope not those "unlimited movie/music" download sites...

That's really poor conversions. Are you like tricking the visitor to get clicks on your site? If not I would be dropping that particular offer...

I would be using redirect links, then you can track it better. Also, if a program is dropped or you want to promote something different, you just change the affiliate link within the redirect without actually having to change all the links in your articles. This way the articles that have already been published won't be affected either.

I put my Statcounter code in my redirects to keep track of where my clicks are coming from which is really helpful...but maybe there is an easier way. At least this one is free.
