I usually judge them on iTrader but in sections where they don't show iTrader, I judge them by post count.

Higher post count is one of the criteria to judge them but its not necessary.

Even by 1 or 2 PM talk with a new member can give u an idea :)

If you barely started to post then people want to see what your bringing to the table. High post does not mean your thought of being better thou.

Yeah users with greater post count kinda show that these members are senior to us. Reputable in some way.

iTrader, rep level, join date, post quality, post count - are all factors that should be taken into consideration before entering into a business deal with a person in any forum...

And if in doubt, send them a PM and see how friendly and trustworthy they seem in their replies...

I judge them by y previous interaction with them and by their sense of humor. Most of my fav members don't have too many posts and rep

I agree... I'm in the process of trying to up my post count because of this. I do my part and try to help as many people out as I can on the forums though. I don't really post, but I do use my PM feature often.

I think there are many factors that contribute to different judgment between other members on the forum. Language/grammar is a big one, and post count, because we naturally do that ;)

Post count doesn't really mean much at all when trying to figure out something important about a person. It may show their devotion to the forum and you may be able to determine the amount of time that is spent here, but beyond that..not much. There are different types of people...some enjoy being socially involved (for whatever reason), some prefer to take in the information (to apply it of course), and some don't even notice what their doing. Instead of how many posts some one makes, if I'm interested at all in digging deeper, I look into their actual posts. The quality (content) means more to me than the quantity (post count).

To see how long someone has been a member of the forum, I take a look at the Join date. From there, if I look at the post count, its to determine whether their "in the mix" or taking in information (among other things).

I take some of the things that I do online from the way I do things offline. I, personally, don't speak much. I prefer to observe and take things in. When I feel that I have something to say, I say it. It doesn't mean that I don't like to occasionally chime in with a couple casual comments. I mean..I'm not a mute.

Basically, I don't judge a person's ability by their post count. I use it, more so, to determine a bit of their personality.

No, I judge them by what they are saying.
