Okay. You are not being professional. It looks like you are doing everything you can to remove this idea that he has. He probably planned this so he knows what he is doing.

Any reason you are singling me out?

    How about these responses?

Care to respond to them to, or you just figure you will trash me?

It is a volunteer sign-up as he restated. If you want to give your username and paypal do it. If you do not want to, don't. And I really do not know why people have a fear to give away their paypal. What is going to happen? Get more money in your balance account?

Maybe if some people do want to keep their privacy, then do not PM him. I am not against anyone, I am just giving some thumbs up for Robert because he is just trying to reward in a way the Big DP Members. By just looking at the his posts and reputation, I would trust him. My 2 Cents.

There's no secret around here that the iTrader system, as well intended as it is, is inherently flawed by the petty tit-for-tat reciprocal repping performed by some of our more undesirable members. Also a lot of members feel unable to give honest iTrader feedback for fear of reprisals later on.

Good luck to Rob for trying to make a difference.

As for my opinion, itrader lies, because people can insist on just asking for it... but since the OP stated "voluntary" then I guess, its up for people to sign up with his system. :D

    Ditto!

Too bad all the requirements otherwise i would go for this...

Robert as an idea only, forget the DP part...Just ask for users their username in all forums they visit and check with that.
Msn and paypal emails don't mean anything, they can be created over and over again.
Just my opinion. It's your plan, do as you wish :)

I am NOT against it at all ,

I just had some questions, I mean who will be "deciding" who is bad and who is good, I would think a panel of people would be good Vs one person's opinion.

In Fact, I have sent Robert all my info, he can verify that I did if you ask him

I'm sure he's aware of what slander is - we have a similar law in the UK. From what I've read I don't think it's going to be an issue - he (Rob) isn't proposing a bitchfest but rather you either get on his approved list or you don't.

If someone recieves a negative itrader for giving a negative itrader then they can comment on the itrader themselves. I know when I purchase something from anyone or sell someone something I look at what people buy and sell.

It's peoples carelessness that gets them scammed.

As far as the idea goes, what happens if someone turns for the worst and starts scamming people, are there going to be regular checks? Good luck either way Robert.

It's a bit like an MOT test for members - Rob will only include people on his list if he is satisfied, at the time, that they haven't committed any internet dishonesty. If they lapse I guess he will remove them.

It is a test for motor vehicle roadworthiness and safety in the UK - it only proves the vehicle is roadworthy at the time. The wheels could subsequently come off - even with a BMW.

Sure thing, but the idea still has major flaws. Googling someones internet alias could bring up results that accuse the user of scamming but are actually total bs.

If someone wanted to they could create a page on a site, include things like "sundaybrew of digitalpoint scammed me $100", with a more detailed description, about an hours worth of seo and be ranked for sundaybrew in the next few days. No way to prove that its truth or not..

Itrader works fine if the user quickly flicks through what the user has been buying/selling and isn't stupid enough to purchase something that is way too good to be true.

I mean people do get jealous of how successful others are and try to destroy them, and start trouble where ever they go..

But all for the best I guess
